  1. He’s a striker, which is good. Hope he can do a job. Also weakens Burnley somewhat, which is good.
  2. Don’t necessarily need to be someone sitting on a bench. Just need to pay up.
  3. Reminds me of when we signed Joselu and Rafa said something like ”well, we have to get some bodies in”
  4. Maybe they’ll sell us Benteke or Ayew
  5. Which one do you think it is?
  6. Think I’d prefer a more experienced CB anyway (if we only sign one)
  7. If our ”attacking play” is going to look like it did yesterday we’ll need a big, strong striker to aim crosses at, I guess.
  8. Right now, I’d take him actually. Focal point, someone to aim crosses at and that. we should be able to get someone better, obviously
  9. My post wasn’t specifically about Emery. I’m not bothered about not getting him. Was just talking about different types of managers. For the record, I want Howe to stay, no question. But I fear relegation.
  10. Yes, I agree. The problem is we don’t have much time this season. I’m not up for the Championship.
  11. And what we really needed this season, in our situation, was of course a results-orientated manager, a Rafa-type, an Emery, who also became our top target. Howe may show to be a great long-term choice and I like him, but he’s not an ideal manager in our current situation.
  12. Yes, I think they’re different managers in that way. Howe is more of an ideologist, a teacher if you like, while Rafa is pragmatic and focused on getting maximum results from the material at his disposal.
  13. Yep. The players have no idea what to do when they get near their goal.
  14. Central midfield is a big part of that problem IMO edit: and with Wilson out we desperately need a striker
  15. Yeah, lots of rumours, but no reports of bids then. Looking like we’re taking care of defence first.
  16. Any reports of us making a bid for a CM or CF yet?
