Very good post. Some great points and I agree with almost everything you've said here.

Don't disagree with you at all. The reason I made the point more towards the fullbacks is we need to stay in games longer and currently we are playing with two defenders with one of them being long past his best. From his quotes yesterday I reckon we'll be playing a lot more defensively against Chelsea and Man City. Wouldn't be surprised to see Anita back in the team either. The only problem is we have very little pace up front to counter attack. His aim in the next two games will be to keep the scores down, and rightly so. It's literally the only area he's not copied Pardew so far getting utterly bummed. What? He's clearly set us up to play on the deck rather than Pardew's hoofball. howay man Look, we've been s****, but this "McCarvdew" bollocks is just lazy. We've clearly tried to play it out from the back. Hasn't worked, mind. Explain to me how other than us getting a 4/5/6-0 bumming he's differed from Pardew so far. Eh, I just told you. We've tried to keep the ball on the deck to a greater extent rather than hoofing it at every opportunity.

I asked this question the other day and I'm sure people said we had 7 points after 8 games last season and that was a f***ing shambles. We're looking at 2 from the same games here man. It's not the time to call for his sacking yet imo, as I've said. Just checked, last season we got our first win in the 8th game. So 4 draws from the first 7 and a win in the 8th. Still much better than the two points we're going to have this season. Also Pardew went on a 6 win run didn't he? That's not happening here like Let's see where we're at come Christmas. 8 straight losses, courtesy of John Carver, won't happen either.

Fair enough, as I know this has been your opinion since the day he was appointed. I didn't particularly want him either, but I'm willing to give him a proper chance.

If I remember correctly we started last season, under Pardew, with 8 straight games without a win. There's some serious bed-wetting and knee-jerking going on here, it's embarrasing sometimes. It's been a poor start but calling for McClaren's head is ludicrous.

Chelsea and Citeh coming up

Couldn't watch the game, genuinely thought we'd win. So, how shit were we? Not an acceptable result, obviously.

Think you're in for a big shock - we are in deep s*** already and there is no way in hell it's going to change with this manager. Any team who can't keep clean sheets and can't score is in serious trouble and boy are we not. We're 5 games into the season, we've played Man U away, Southampton and Arsenal at home and did pretty well in all those games. Calm the fuck down.

I don't think it's anyone's ideal choice but nonsensical is bullshit tbh considering the lineups we've witnessed so far. You're going to be asking one of them to play a role they're desperately unsuited to man. The solution to us being unable to score goals is to change the balance of our team, not just imbalance it in another way. Do you mean DM? Do we need a f***ing DM at home to Watford like if our attacking line up consists of Aarons, Perez, De Jong and Thauvin? I don't think so. And that ignores the fact the two players we've asked to play it so far are s*** anyways, for the most part. You need one of your CM's to be a bit more responsible, you can't just have them both go hell for leather bombing forward, you'll get caught on the break very easily and you'll struggle to build anything from the back as you've nobody in CM who can drop deep and get attacks started and nobody sitting deep to offer an option and recycle possession when attacks are looking like breaking down. I'm not talking about putting in a destroyer ala Tiote, but I really don't think you can just tell your entire midfield to just go out and attack. Can't think of any teams who do tbh. Problem isn't that we're playing with a sitter, the problem is that we're playing with two of them. Anita or (preferably) Colback, one of them has to go. But the answer isn't just putting out the most attacking lineup conceivable. Good post, I agree. And Anita's been pretty good, don't really see why he should be dropped.

My team too. Possibly Sissoko instead of Thauvin.

MUST win. I think we will.

McClaren's left handed. That's what I've learned from this half.
