Yeah it does. The rules state that it's a different phrase of play, and also if it hits off defender then you can't be offside when the last touch was off an opposition player. A player in an offside position at the moment the ball is played or touched by a team-mate is only penalised on becoming involved in active play by: gaining an advantage by playing the ball or interfering with an opponent when it has: - rebounded or been deflected off the goalpost, crossbar or an opponent - been deliberately saved by any opponent To be fair it was deliberately saved by an opponent

Would be typical NUFC if we don't beat these. They are absolutely rank and have a keeper in goal who makes Sels look like Buffon. Bruce playing ultra-defensive tactics and jumbling around players who either don't work well together or don't work well in the position/role he is trying to play them. They've scored 8 goals away from home all season and only mustered 11 points from 16 away games.

WBA must be the most boring club to support in the PL, they don't even give any cup competitions a decent go.
-
There is still an air of panic about Man City when teams run at them and close them down, happened a few times tonight and it's exactly how Leicester beat them. Problem is that teams cant manage it for 90 minutes or end up going behind and chasing the game which opens it up and plays into Man City's hands.

Aye of course not, he's not running across the eyeline of the keeper at all. He also then doesn't get the ball from the proceeding run and then assist the goal (all from obtaining the advantage of standing in an offside position from the initial shot). Maybe you should take your own advice and read up on the rules.

As we scored the obvious goal scoring opportunity no longer exists, ref would have to either of a) stopped game and give penalty and red card or b) allow goal and give a yellow card Can't do both Cheers. Well in that case he should have been sent off and a penalty given, rather than the goal. Especially factoring in the fact that Lascelles was offside leading to the goal so it shouldn't have stood anyway. First infringement in the passage of play was the handball, so that should have been given. All immaterial of course - the goal was given, we won 1-0 and nowt changes that now. Neesy acting all high and mighty shocker. So boring.

He's fine (at this level) as long as you never expect your full back to have the ball.
-
I think he did miss it, when you see from behind the play the ref isn't looking at the foul. I reckon the 4th official has had a word in his ear. Which is still good stuff if true like. Aye, he wasn't looking at it at all and the linesman certainly didn't give it.

Chopey's lass laid on the bed in the other room with candles, roses and a huge tub of toys with music playing in the background.

Hopefully Villa will buy him in their pursuit to buy the most average Championship team ever.

Love reading opposition message boards. Every team is so ultra confident that they'll win and they have the best team ever. Ours included. One comment in particular that I smirked at: 'If you want to beat Newcastle you have to match up with Shelvey, Colback and Diame - three big, strong guys in the centre of the park' -
Newcastle United promoted back to the Premier League

Huddersfield v Reading on 21/02 and Brighton v Reading on 25/02. Some good games coming up in this league at the end of the month/start of next. -

This. Although I think Huddersfield is the most important game - beat them and there is not a chance they gain 10 points over us (& GD) in the remaining games. Nobody else is anywhere near consistent (or good) enough to put a serious challenge together. -
Utterly crap and shouldn't be anywhere near our team.
-
Aye that's the one Forgot how awful that Norwich kit was mind.
-
Teams are contracted by the supplier to wear their away and third strip 'x' amount of times a season. The feeling behind it is that fans will be discouraged to buy a shirt if it's only worn by the team once. If that's the reason it becomes even more of a hate, especially as the feeling that fans would be discouraged is wrong. Not all teams have the same agreement but a majority do. There was an article a while ago about Norwich(?) discussing why they wore their third kit against Stoke that makes reference to clubs having this contract clause.

Yesterday was only his third yellow card of the season like (and no reds), he's hardly been the monster people are making out. A yellow every 195 minutes he's played. He's started 6 games and scored 4 goals, 3 assists too. I'd say based on those stats he's concentrated a lot on his football - especially when you look at his disciplinary/goals records in every other season that he has played.
-
There was no reason why he couldn't being Murphy on to replace him like, it was Rafa's decision to play Gouffran as a lone striker. I agree it was a thick challenge to make, but he didn't get sent off and he scored the goal that secured us three points. He played well in the first half and should get credit for that. Shelvey has been more of a liability than Mitro this season and is just as likely to do something that'll reduce us to 10 men or get banned for long period of time. Other than yesterday he's barely put a foot wrong.

A tactical mastermind. Gets it wrong every now and again but more often than not he prevails. The fact that pundits thought we'd be better off with a clogger like Bruce

Striker goes for it nearly every single time the ball is bouncing in between the GK and defender like that, happens in nearly every match at some point. If he had left it, he'd have had people screaming at him for not challenging for the ball and being a lazy c***. Someone made that daft argument yesterday, too. A grown man can't be risking a sending off half an hour into the game because someone might call him a lazy c***. Not saying he'd have left it for that reason, point I was making is that no matter what the bloke does certain people find a reason to have a pop. He went for it because he's a striker with the instinctive mind to try grab a goal whenever he can. Brighton(?) had a bloke sent off for something similar against us this season, it's what strikers do - try to nick the ball and score a goal whenver they can. It happens in lots of games a day.

-
Why are people acting like he lost his head? 'lost his cool' He didn't at all like, he mistimed a challenge for the ball with absolutely no intent to hurt anyone. Anyone else on the field makes the same challenge and nowt is said about it.

It'd be some achievement from Pards and Sam to relegate that Palace team like. I think they are the most likely to get out of it because they have the best team imo. Some awful performances though.
