Aye, as a person he seems quite a decent bloke but his time here has not worked out for whatever reason. I have no dislike for him, other than the fact he's not a very good manager for us. Would like to see him pick up a nice job in the Championship or something.
-
They're contracted by the Premier League to do one, are they not? Aye, but they could easily do it Monday morning if this is all settled. Aye, just seen that SSN are reporting it's being "postponed". This can only mean that he's being booted like and we're trying to get a replacement secured first. They'd let him do the conference tomorrow if he was still intended to be in post.

Wasn't McClaren sacked by Derby because they wouldn't agree a compensation deal for him walking away? Something tells me there is 0 chance of him resigning. But who could blame him? If I knew I was going to be sacked, but also knew I could resign and get nothing or wait until I am sacked and get 3 years salary then I'd be sitting at my desk until my replacement shows up!

Remember last January when we were dreaming of the possibility of de Boer, or the unknown Garde or even maybe Tuchel... then we ended up with Carver for 6 months followed by McClaren. Well it is happening all over again. 1. They wont sack Schteve 2. We wont get Rafa

Sunderland won away at Man City and Chelsea not so long ago to survive, when they looked dead and buried. Leicester won pretty much everywhere last season when they looked dead and buried. Those 3 teams are not out of it, they need to pick up results otherwise they are in great danger. As I said, this is the time of the year that one or two teams pick up some surprise results.
-
How can anybody say that? Palace have Man Utd, West Ham and Leicester up next and winless in 12, if they lose all of those (quite possible) they could be within 0-6 points of the drop with us and Norwich to play.

Has nobody realised yet that journalists just talk shit and have as much as an idea as we do? How hard is it to link unemployed managers who have expressed a desire to work in the Premier League with a club in the shit? 9/10 times what they say never happens, 1/10 times they get it correct by a lucky guess. Look at Luke Edwards' tweets for example, every day he has posted some shit that just hasn't materialised... eventually, one of his tweets will materialise and he'll claim to be "in the know".

I'm a 7. We've got some relatively winnable games left, especially at home. Still don't think that Palace, Swansea and Bournemouth are out of it yet, this time of year teams at the bottom pick up shock wins.

That's ridiculous people will take one for the team and gambl on them missing the penalty surely?? the triple punishment always seemed harsh for me (pen, red card and ban) Why? You commit a foul that is worthy of a red card and you deserve a ban, if you do it in the penalty area then it is worthy of a penalty. From now on, every time someone is through on goal you could foul them outside the penalty area and get a red but wait until they go in the area and get a yellow? how ridiculous.

If we could convince someone like Rafa to take the job (which I highly doubt), surely the contract would need to be until the end of the season and surviving relegation triggers an automatic 4/5 year extension. Imagine Rafa getting us out of the shit, then leaving to take over a proper club and us ending up with Sherwood.

Imagine going from managing Cristiano Ronaldo to Yoan Gouffran

Some people are literally so thick Even IF the girl was a complete and utter slapper who has sex every night all night, even IF she begged Johnson all day every day for sexual contact and even IF she stalked him and his family... it is STILL against the law for Johnson to carry out the acts that he did the consent is irrelevant as she is under 16 and therefore cannot consent. Jesus wept the first ever appeal based on the fact that there are rumours that the underage victim liked a shag behind the bins. Regardless of what people think or claim to know of the girl, Johnson is still guilty. It's a bit like if I murdered Pardew, I'd still be guilty of murder - even if he is a total wanker.
-
As expected, we are dragging our heels doing fuck all I've seen "48 hours" quoted every day since Saturday, this isn't going to happen at all like.
-
As expected, Byrne takes one for the team with an excellent pay-off. Aye, she was the only person in Sunderland who knew Johnson had admitted it I'd love Johnson or someone like Poyet to release a statement telling everyone how the whole club knew

I do football clubs we have a training complex and football stadium in Newcastle, yet they decide to catch a train to York to go and hold a meeting. Why not have a meeting in one of the many rooms that we have in the training complex/stadium? Both of which are private and have security, yet we decide to catch a very public train to York. Bet they absolutely love their expense claims like, such a ridiculously easy job.
-
If they were going to sack him, they'd have done it by now imo. They'll do exactly what they did with Carver, offer some managers some ridiculous terms and get turned down then come back and offer their full backing to SMC. I'll be absolutely amazed if we fire SMC and hire anyone competent. The problem is though, the job is less and less attractive the more trouble we get into. We currently have a fighting chance of staying up so somebody could take it, but two defeats on the trot would put us firmly in the shit and nobody will want to risk coming to us.

Oh do f*** off. of course that wasn't a serious post... I was knocking around some other forums and fwiw that's the general consensus of every other football supporter

It's our own fault for sacking Pards
-
I reckon McClaren will veto the sacking. You think? Can just see headline now....."board unanimous is sacking the head coach Steve McClaren" and then Steve coming out with "I'm disappointed in the boards decision, wish I could have stayed to to put things right" etc. "The board were tremendous today"

Became a father today according to twitter, anyone know if his Mrs is any good?
-
Cant wait for him to be sacked, the jubilation on here for 22 minutes until Curbishley is presented as the new boss.
-
To be fair, how do we know that photo of Charnley and Moncur was from today? I can imagine all of this is a load of shit and SMC has already been told that he wont be sacked.
