  1. Aye... van Nistelrooy, Bergkamp (signed from Inter but still originated from Dutch league), Suarez, Kuyt and van Persie were all utter failures. They have been hit and mess. For everyone one of those there is an Alfonso Alves, Luuk De Jong, Vincent Janssen, Mateja Kežman, Jozy Altidore. Hit and miss aye, like every other league that players are bought from. To say ‘never do well’ was just entirely inaccurate though.
  2. Decent scoring record, albeit in crap leagues. It’s a punt, but it’s better than Joselu.

  4. What has Slimani done in this league to show he’d do any better than what we’ve got in Mitro? Especially when he would undoubtedly be more expensive. Selling Mitro to WBA or Brighton or any other club in a relegation battle, at any price other than somethinf extraordinary, would be fucking tragic.
  5. Regarding Shelvey I may as well just repeat what I said about Mitro, because the point stands for both. Selling any player, when we’re low on quality/options would be ridiculous. Selling the player(s) to a relegation rival would be utterly fucking stupid. Throw into that the obvious fact that these players clearly wont be replaced and it makes it even worse.
  6. Not taking an article seriously that tries to say we’ve signed Kenedy as a replacement for Shelvey like
  7. Luckily we've got a really patient home crowd which isn't at all utterly rife with stinking anxiety. I genuinely don't think the message will ever get through to those who moan at the ground at games. Nope. And I really feel that, ultimately, it'll be a contributing factor to him leaving. Yes, obviously, there will be far more significant reasons for him calling it a day with us, but it was the fans that kept him the first time. If the crowd keep being arseholes to the players, after years of the manager desperately pleading with them to be the opposite, it'll make his decision to go a lot easier. His name is chanted at every game, mind. The fans are the reason he's remained here, after 3 (so far) transfer windows in which he's been screwed over. The home fans are poor at times, but they'll never be a reason for him to leave the club. The away fans are in a different league to the home ones mind. I know they are. Our away support is absolutely superb, best in the country by far. Me being biased course. /OurFansThread /RTG
  8. 2 of the 3 teams in the bottom 3 at this stage of the season have gone down in the last 3 years. Just need to avoid that last spot. #hope It’s never actually been this tight though.
  9. It's not so much instruction but the fact he isn't quick enough to break out from defence and attack quickly. His biggest weakness is pace and it matters most in this league (example of this failure was was Joselu's miss pass to Man City to being in our goal but they were offside - within seconds btw). No other team who is successfully slows play down. Joselu is not quicker than him though. If it was a footballing reason then we wouldn’t be playing Joselu, because he’s no better than Mitro. Eh if you watch him in the flesh you will see he is slow mate Think I’ve seen both of them enough times in the flesh to establish that they are both as slow as each other. He won't carry the ball like Murphy who scored with pace. In another league yes but not EPL. Have you been on the sauce? He’s not going to play in Murphy’s place, what has Murphy got to do with it?
  10. Why do none of the top teams ever put in a piss poor performance like this against us?
  11. What is he? A LB or winger? I thought he was going to replace Dummett, so now I’m sad to find out everyone else thinks he’s a winger.

  14. I just fail to understand why Mitro would purposely not follow instructions to the detriment of his career at a club that he is really happy at. He’ll be earning more than he ever has (and ever will unless he moves to a PL club), clearly loves the club, city and people - so why the fuck would he continue to ignore Rafa’s instructions?
  15. But what if we're using the money from any potential sale to fund the purchase of an incoming player? Yes, we shouldn't really be in that position, but let's assume we are. Do we not sell Mitro or someone else to rival for fear of that player improving them, and therefore miss out on the player we want? In an ideal world you sell to a foreign team, but this is a Mike Ashley world..... The depends on who the striker is that we want. If we’re selling Mitro to buy someone like Deeney or Slimani for £20m, my point stands. Especially when you consider Mitro is much younger with the ability to improve.
  16. Regardless of what people think of him, selling any player to a relegation rival would be utterly braindead. Wouldn’t even sell Colback to them, because there is always the remote chance that they’ll hit a purple patch and keep them up at our expense.
  17. Ridiculous decision and Watford’s model of short term management is crap and will trip then up eventually - hopefully this season.
  18. Just seen this, sickening injury that - absolutely vile.
  19. Nice for some. If only we could compete with the Seagulls. Can't compete with sovereign seabirds. We’ll do a Leeds if we go spending money like that.
  20. The referee and linesman failing to give a corner for Derby there just cost me £450. Fucking marvellous. It was an obvious fucking corner
