Newcastle United’s wage bill for the 2015/16 season was £74.7million – a figure that eclipses almost all of their Championship rivals but is now lower mid-table in the Premier League. More detailed club accounts will be revealed in the coming days but United’s wage bill to turnover is 59.4% of £125.8million – which makes the staff wage bill £74.7million. That is up on the £65.1million recorded in the 2014/15 season. Lee Charnley acknowledged that United’s wage bill was STILL at Premier League level as he spoke about the accounts: “Our approach, following relegation, was to make further sizeable investment in our playing squad in preparation for the EFL Championship season ahead and our annual wage bill is, we believe, still above and beyond many current Premier League teams.” https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-uniteds-wage-bill-revealed-12858274 -

What was our wage bill in the relegation season compared to the championship? Im smelling bullshit Parachute payment? players sales? and we still lost £90m? There is no way most of those players were on Premier League wages. -

From the Gazette https://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/mike-ashley-will-hand-rafa-benitez-50m-transfer-kitty-at-newcastle-1-9170163 "However, Benitez, on West Ham United's managerial shortlist, will only commit to Newcastle if he is satisfied that the club's ambitions match his own. The Gazette last week revealed the assurances that Benitez wants from the club's hierarchy. Benitez wants a defined transfer budget and to be able to spend it as he sees fit. And the Gazette understands that the early figures discussed in talks fall short of £50million. Ashley last week pledged to back Benitez with "every penny generated by the club", meaning Benitez's transfer budget will have to come out of Newcastle's profits." -
If Rafa leaves its because of Mike Ashley's doing.. Rafa has done all the compromising up to now, its up to Mike to get a hold of his cronies and give their heads a shake.

Watching the match on NBC the camera zoomed into Lee Charnley, a few minutes later it zooms into two old well to do looking fellows.. but the commentator gave no explanation who they were. Probably nothing to do with us but it got me curious as to who they are.

This line reminded me of this tweet. “On many occasions throughout the season they have been described as a Championship side, which I personally consider to be derogatory." https://twitter.com/MoneyMikeAshley/status/995685991947087872 -

Liverpool? Liverpool youngest team in the Premier League, I think they will be a lot more solid next season.
-
Arsenal will go the same way as Man Utd.. ie struggling to find a new identity. There is a huge hole in the Premier League after Man City and its there to be filled by a club with ambition and a decent manager.
-
Love Mitro to bits but his problem is similar to Aarons.. they need to be allowed to play their natural game. He will go far under a manager not as tactical as Rafa, but long term the club will achieve a lot more with the players who can follow Rafa's instructions.

So I decided to take a bonus of 500% from a betting company.. I stuck £10 in and got £50 extra, anyways after blowing half of it I stuck £5 on a goals galore. Copped £190 from 6 matches, so I tried to withdraw and it turns out I have to have completed bonus requirements up to 100%. It works out at 10x £60 bets, so I stuck £100 at evens on an Arsenal/Chelsea double and it took my bonus requirement from 10% to 30%. So when Chelsea went 1-0 up today I decided to cash out for £165. When I checked my bonus req. it was back to 10% from 30%. It turns out if you cash out it does not count towards your bonus, so then I stuck £50 on a team to win and received 0% bonus req. when I inquired as to why they said bets under odds of evens do not count. So I have to make another 9x £60 bets at evens or greater to be able to cash out.. God damn bookies man.

Stuck £100 on a Chelsea/Arsenal double.. knew it was gone as soon as I saw Arsenal's lineup.

Im pretty sure this rumour is from when he was there and has just been rehashed. I remember vaguely reading something about it at the time. -
Rafa wants to be at Newcastle its just a case of the club making it worthwhile for him to stay.

I think PCP would look to grow the club with a view to selling it on later at a profit. Been having a good read on Stavely though and you do have to question her a bit and whether she is/was serious.
