The only alternative to Ashley selling, would be we go into the season short on players (which usually results in getting relegated) use the clubs money to secure promotion and start with his bolloxy policy of buying cheap players from France again.. its virtually rinse and repeat. Is he really going to go through that again? his best time to sell was now, while Rafa was in charge.. He could well be taking his loan back before selling the club.. I always thought if he ever left he would try to sabotage the club in the hope of relegating us. I'll be gutted if Longstaff gets sold, which it is looking quite likely.

We've gone soft.. there is a bit more fire in the working classes.. but since most of them are priced out of it or have ditched their tickets its down to the more middle classed fans, who lets be frank cringe at the very sight of people singing and haven't had a fight since nursery.

If you want to put a positive spin on it, it could be Ashley is selling the club and he and his cronies have decided to take the piss. Bishop's agency came back on Twitter knowing full well they would get slaughtered, Ashley knowing Benitez would not sign a contract.. then leaks to the press that its over with before Rafa jumps. Its then up to whoever comes in to appoint someone.. could all be plausible, but we have lived with Ashley for too long to expect anything other than easy.
