Can these "final stages" that they have been circling around forever just be pressing "send" on an email? Enough already!

I think this is an important point, there is literally nothing else for the rags to report on.. There would be if they'd just announce this fucking takeover

I'm wondering about these checks like. Surely, the Premier league just needs to look down a checklist that they have pre prepared and tick off the boxes. Yes, they may need clarification on something and that's fine but they can't be doing some full blown legal investigation themselves. This piracy claim was thrown out of court in France so therefore it should be dismissed. If BeIn, or anybody else, has a legal issue then don't go to the Premier League, they need to go to the courts. I think they either can't or realise that such a legal battle would be so protracted that any business deals could still be undertaken by the PIF so they're going to the PL bit by bit with their possibly bullshit objections. Just tell them; you've got X amount of time to prove your spurious allegations or we are dismissing them. Although, if a court of law has already tossed them out then they just need to fuck the fuck off. I've gone from being warmly but quietly positive about this to irritated by it all. It's easier to seek forgiveness than permission and in today's age we all know that denial of responsibility causes a small spark of outrage that will disappear in a week, so just give the go ahead and put on a "no response from this inbox" reply on the emails that come in from BeIn and pass it through. I keep seeing us almost seeing light at the end of the tunnel, only for it to be cruelly blocked by naysayers who really do seem to enjoy putting the boot in. We are excited by getting rid of ashley and are trying to be sensible but sometimes we really do need a timescale to aim for. "It takes as long as it takes" is bandied around and that's all well and good, but like in any walk of life, there has to be an approximation of how long something will take and then if that runs over, an explanation of that should be forthcoming. The issue with that is, the PL should absolutely be providing said updates to their customer and should be held to account by said customer when they overrun that timescale. Thing is, neither I or the fanbase as a whole are the customer in this instance so cannot feel entitled to such updates. This is what is so hard and frustrating for me and perhaps many others. Sorry for the long winded rant/take on things but I'm just so down on the whole affair now. It's becoming a damp squib.

I can't wait to fall in love with football again.

The way he spoke on that interview, I got the impression that he has been advised not to get his hopes up. That half hearted "I'd back me" was pretty much resignation to the fact this useless prick was incredibly unlikely to be asked to stay on. Could be wishful thinking on my part, but I think I would have been feeling a lot of anger if he'd given an indication he would be staying on.

Hate that North will rise again bullshit. North have won 21 of the last 30 league titles Meh. Not the proper North

Aye loads. I know the plane chat got a bit out of hand, but the facts are that a private jet flew from Saudi Arabia overnight, landed in Newcastle this morning, stayed an hour and is now approaching Riyadh. Sod em. I found it to be delightfully relaxing, even if it proves to be nothing. The naysayers dont know what theyre missing

So my Irish lass was right? Brilliant. Thanks for clearing that up guys

Yep. Then nothing tomorrow then it's a long weekend. Before we know it we will be in this same stalemate next weekend. I'm 100% out like i just can't picture it happening, I really can't. Hope I'm wrong like but that's the strong feeling I have. Stop fucking lying, you're all in like the rest of us. You're sniffing around this thread like a broke sailor outside a whorehouse. This, this is my favourite quote of the week

Not by much, they are still parallel and are pretty much heading south before banking east to avoid Kosovo etc. Next few minutes will be telling. Had to leave my flightradar screen for a bit, so did GLF5 land on a Greek island and is now heading north again ? Picking up Nikos Dabizas I reckon, wasn't he touted for a job under the new regime No landings, just headed South before banking left and heading towards SA.

An Irish lass I knew told me Mac was Scottish and Mc was Irish.

https://www.101greatgoals.com/news/companies-house-update-on-sheffield-united-owner-abdullah-bin-musaad-impact-on-the-newcastle-takeover/ By Benjamin Newman Published: May 21, 2020 12:18 pm Last Updated: May 21, 2020 12:24 pm When will the Newcastle United takeover happen? Earlier today we reported that some unnamed Premier League clubs have upped the pressure on the league to stop the Newcastle United takeover from going ahead. For more than five weeks, Newcastle fans have been waiting to open their ‘cans’ as the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund try to buy the Toon from Mike Ashley for 300 million pounds. By all accounts, the Newcastle takeover will complete, even if it’s taking a bit longer than some had expected. Companies House update on Sheffield United owner Abdullah bin Musa’ad On Thursday, an update from Companies House alerted both Newcastle and Sheffield United fans. One of the early objections to the Saudi takeover at St James’ Park concerned the Blades. Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman is the chairman of Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund. Meanwhile, Sheffield United is owned by MBS’s cousin, Prince Abdullah bin Musa’ad. The argument had been asserted that a result of this Saudi family dynamic, Newcastle could exert under influence over affairs at Bramall Lane. Yet, on Thursday, a report from Companies Hous indicated that Abdullah bin Musa’ad had ceased to be “a person with significant control” of Sheffield United as of October 2019. Sheffield United have just filed confirmation with companies house that Abdullah Bin Mosa’ad Bin Abdulaziz Al Saudhas ceased to be “a person with significant control” as of October 2019https://t.co/wObjl0i0XN pic.twitter.com/waliA1zmM1 — David Dubas-Fisher (@dubasfisher) May 21, 2020 How could this impact the Newcastle United takeover? The assumption to be drawn from the Companies House update is that if Abdullah bin Musa’ad is no longer important at Sheffield United, that could be another obstacle to fall by the wayside in the Saudi buyout. However, well-followed Twitter user @RedRoseMichelle, who is a “solicitor (focused on) corporate crime”, has suggested that this latest Sheffield United update could be “a false alarm”. She’s confirmed that Abdullah bin Musa’ad remains a director at Sheffield United. Today’s update is explained as “a corporate structural change” by the Blades. While, on the impact on the situation at Newcastle, Magpies fans are warned: “We don’t think this has any real impact on the takeover. Sit tight.” 1/ Companies House Update We think this is a false alarm. Abdullah bin Musa’ad was notified as a person with significant control on 18th October and removed on the same day. For some reason it’s taken until today for it to be listed on Companies House — Shell ?⚽️? (@RedRoseMichelle) May 21, 2020 2/He remains as a director of the Company & therefore of the club. Looks like this was a corporate structural change by Sheff Utd rather than takeover related. Blades Leisure Ltd own Sheff Utd & they were owned, until 18 Oct 2019, by Sheff Utd Ltd. That is no longer the case. — Shell ?⚽️? (@RedRoseMichelle) May 21, 2020 3/ The familial relationships between those involved with Sheff Utd and NUFC is extremely complicated. There are various individuals who come and go as part of the Company. But we don’t think this has any real impact on the takeover. Sit tight… — Shell ?⚽️? (@RedRoseMichelle) May 21, 2020 Another reporter to question the meaning of today’s Companies House report is the New York Times’ Tariq Panja. He’s noted that Abdullah bin Musa’ad has appeared very active at Sheffield United since October 2019. Specifically when he claimed credit for agreeing Chris Wilder’s new 5-year deal with the Blades. Strange for someone who ceased to have control of the club in Oct. 2019 giving an interview in Jan 2020 to announce the club had handed coach Chris Wilder a new 5 year contract and outline "his" plans for the club: https://t.co/FfTxxDi0L7 — tariq panja (@tariqpanja) May 21, 2020 Also seems odd that if this happened in October that it's being filed now. According to the guidelines, that form should have been submitted within 14 days of a person ceasing to have significant control of the business — tariq panja (@tariqpanja) May 21, 2020

Just been mooching around the Sheff Utd boards and they haven't picked up on anything yet.

The Gulfstream 4 might be the one that the Minister of Finance and Economy uses. The Gulfstream 5's that SA owns are primarily Medivac vehicles, but could be a privately owned one that isn't listed as a government vehicle.
-
Gulfstream 5 is now way past Geneva BUT Gulfstream 4 is still in hot pursuit!

Proper little knitting circle we have going on here

Aye, this one: https://www.flightradar24.com/GLF5/2489d389 Gonna check it again in a while and see where it's going. I'm watching it like a hawk. Literally can't take my eyes of it. Changed my computer monitors to dual screen. I was hoping it was heading to Fitton for Birling Day.

This board has me doing it now. Currently watching a Gulfstream 5 over Eastbourne that started it's journey at Newcastle Airport. What does it mean? Probably nothing but it is sooooo relaxing.

It's the selfish nature the human race is unfortunately. Something that is emotionally closer to someone is always going to take precedent. People being murdered no matter who or where is always horrific, but trying to get someone to side with a total stranger over something that is emotionally closer to them, is always going to be hard. Like you mentioned, most people will only get invested seriously if it happens to them. Yep. I read up on this some time ago, I think it was referred to as a "monkey sphere". Basically, monkeys could stretch their sphere of caring to approx 50 other individuals that they cared about. With humans they extrapolated to about 150 people that they cared about or were important in some way. Family, friends etc were within that sphere but for example the man who takes the rubbish away? You know he exists, he performs a task that is useful to you but as you're not personally involved with him you don't care about his life. You very likely don't wish him any harm, but he isn't within your monkey sphere so if something happened to him, you'd feel that it was certainly sad but not anywhere near the scale of emotion should anything have happened to someone close to you.

And they say sportswashing doesn't work. Yeah, I'm sure everyone on here would definitely just give up and walk away if the person who had their future wife dismembered still hadn't faced justice, just so some miscellaneous football fans overseas can have a sugar daddy. Should read the replies to the chronicle tweet, it’s already happened. Loads of “this is boring! Qataris crossing her hands with gold!” Not surprising at all like, local paper comments sections are possibly worse than Facebook. This is so true. You said this before a couple of years ago and I never went back to read them because of how mad it made me and how you summed it up. Thank you for that damn fine bit of life insight as it probably helped my blood pressure a lot.

Rather than trying to block these potential new owners whilst showing sympathy for fans, maybe she (Amnesty) could try an different option and find us some buyers that they are comfortable with.
-
Do we think that when it is announced that it will be as raucous as it would have been a few weeks ago or since it has been in the news for a while now has the excitement fizzled a little so celebrations will be more subdued?
-
Rather than predict the takeover time, why not try and pick the next objection to the takeover, Cluedo style? Amnesty, with a letter, to the fans Luke Edwards, with illogical thoughts, via twitter Richard Keys, with malice, via BeIn Iron Sheikh, with a camel clutch, to lee charnley mike ashley, with a "tire kickers" statement, via sky etc etc Shit I know, but better than me waking up to loads of pages only to find they're all fucking page number guesses and some fucker reposting them and wittering on about noise

“I wanna be sedated..” "all I wanted was to see her naked"?
