    Papiss Cissé

    Oh dear... http://www.themag.co.uk/2016/07/real-papiss-cisse-came-know-love-shandong-luneng-newcastle-united/
  2. McCormack to Norwich, Villa, Us? Haven't seen any signs of deals done. Absolute confidence that if Rafa wants him, he'll get him. 30 years old = wrangling about dosh. Ritchie, Hanley, McCormack, Scotland's best?
  3. No arguing with his his record. Phenomal. Best ever return. Loved the guy, bumped into him (and t'others) regularly at Maiden Castle. Just relaying a view at the time by 'toon-obsessed' company I kept, that he wasted loads. Never agreed with it/ always found myself one of the more positive fans but these older and more 'credible' fans moaned about it. Can't place it in time, but guess it was second season/premiership main point is being there, on the end of chances, is key. Add a rub of the green and increased confidence which comes from them going in,and Mitro could have a career defining season/ develop real self-belief.
  4. that may trigger some cross-dressing shenanigans which may not have otherwise existed!
  5. What was his conversion rate? Genuine sense was people always going on about needing 4 chances to score. Which evidently wasn't true but nevertheless was the Low Fell patter.
  6. Iirc, and those of you of a certain age please help me out, but the patter (irrespective of the song) about Andy Cole was similar, in that that he wasted a lot of chances. Thing was he also scored shit loads. He was always there or thereabouts in the right place, and had a plentiful supply from a phenomenal supporting cast. Wishful thinking maybe, despite their different styles, I can see signs of this 'gift' in Mitro. Think Coley was about the same age/bit older when he joined us. Hoping Mitro follows in the same tracks. (No, I don't mean falls out with the manager and f's off to Man U at the first opportunity!)

    Strongest Eleven

Not sure about the best keeper. Suspect Sels will start. If Janmaat's here he'll play. Gamez at left back. Hanley will start, probably with Lascelles; would be interested to see three CBs (chucking Mbemba in the mix) and Janmaat and Gamez as wing backs. Ritchie will start on right (left footed), would like, to see Aarons secure left. Unsure re centre mid, if Don Rafael plays two, then probably Tiote (if still rejuvenated, not a late Chinese take-away) and Shelvey. Would like to see Perez in the hole (no offence Ayoze;-) looks like him and Rolando could form a wonderful combination. Would also like to see Mitro ("on fire, your defence is terrified..." Shameless but funny, and apt--hopefully) and Gayle on the pitch together. So depends on formation, but with Hayden to be evaluated, and Colback and Thauvin to be Rafalulated, looks strong. Funny, but I am more excited to see Aarons get a good run than any of the new bods.
  8. From what I've seen he has determination, pace, changes direction at speed whilst maintaining control, excellent technical ability, a bit of bite/aggression, and a trick in him/with the self-belief to keeping trying irrespective of how his early duels work out. From what I have heard from him, he has a strong drive to win/succeed and although he seems to have 'a harsh internal critic' many players seem to use this to push themselves to an excellent, rather than good enough, performance level. Really hope he's not let down by his musculoskeletal system (for want of a better phrase) and his tendons, muscles, & joints support him to fulfill what looks like fantastic potential. With him marauding down the left and Janmaat on the right (winger or wing-back) Mitro or Gayle could be receiving a lot of juicy balls (ahem) across the box to feed on (just had a seriously off putting image...). If Ritchie is favoured right-sided midfielder then given he is a left footer, Janmmaat would be good overlapping option.
  9. Thinking of subscribing to Sky, for the first time, just to catch toon games. Seems a waste as I'm not interested in anything else, is there a better way?
  10. I am convinced (for the second preseason in a row...) that this the year for Aarons. Future full international in the making. It's Rolando time!
  11. What the heck! Looks like some psychedelic Glastonbury cast-off!?! I want a refund.
  12. Beginning to really believe we might be good to watch this season. Championship or not, bring it on!

Let's go retro: Greggs of Gosforth. Stottifilarious.
  14. Fingers well and truly crossed, but Aarons looks like he could have a brilliant year.
  15. Great run by Gayle (and ball by Colback), acres between their centre backs mind.
  16. Nowhere is showing it so I've fallen back on .co.uk and ryder tweets. The official twitter account is tweeting goal highlights as well. Thanks . Much appreciated.
  17. Smashing. Give your optic chiasm a good tug.

Starter for ten, I guess: Santander, Homebase, or Kingfisher.
  19. At risk of someone firing a flare into that midfield three...
  20. Moyes has the look of a textbook Makem. I reckon there's a definite blond/ginger Steve Cram type which originates there more than other places. Like one of Erik the Red's weaker offspring, where the Norse sense of adventure dribbled down their mother's leg, and they ended-up hanging around the coastal hovels trading and trying to hump young goats.
  21. If Championship goalscoring pedigree/experience is what is needed, given that Scottish is the new French, and his lass is canny looking (yet to be established, but desirable recruitment criteria) what about Ross McCormack? Scored 116 goals (Cardiff, Leeds, Fulham) in around 300 appearances. He's 30 and seems to have peaked goalscoring wise in 2013-14 (28 goals for Leeds and Fans and Players player of the year), but has also been Fulham POTY for the last two seasons.

OOOOKKKKAAAAYYYYY... if you it'll help, perhaps we need a Vroman's nightclub on the Quayside?
