  1. That's the position he wanted/wants and it has to be his. Could see Perez go, if there is serious interest Man U/Spurs/Anybody with dosh.
  2. Totally agree. What a player.
  3. You know what, it must be amazing to see the ground bouncing (at times) like that, and know you can be part of that; ignite them and receive that adulation. The passion of the fans and the love for a former player, for any player surely that must inspire.
  4. I really rate Shelvey, and feel I should be happy, but I feel shocked. We're not scoring enough of the ( limited) chances we're creating: we need a proven goal scorer. I know we've looked tighter & only conceded 1 in each of last few games, and that Colo remains Capt., but we are crying out for a strong experienced CB to line-up with Mbemba. I can't see them going for a LB at the mo. Are we going to twist on two CMs and stick with the rest? Risky as fuck, IMO. Are we going to spend £15-20m for a striker, on top of the £17m forked-out? And another £10-12m for a CB?? Hope so, but again 'shocked' wouldn't get anywhere near how I'd feel if we did I'd be delighted too of course (...once the numbness had gone!)
  5. Bloody hell! Never believed we'd do this alongside signing Saivet. Think it would be foolish to spend this instead of getting a striker (and a CB). Could be an amazing or a bewildering trans-fear window. Can't help wondering who is going....
  6. JonJo Shelvey (ahem...) sharing some concerns about the prejudice faced by bald men. He's heard we're tolerant of follicle diversity here, with Wor Temuri and our obvious big love for our midfield ninja (not to mention Alan Robson...). (The Link is only for the very bald...BORED, I meant only for the very bored...)
  7. One person So shoot me... well, actually just remind me. That is, shock horror, if my fans-eye opinion of somebody I would have loved to sign from Liverpool proves wrong. I would think about making him captain, shake the fuckers up a bit.
  8. Football fans? Complaining about an international class player who's not performing for their precious club, biased b******s, what do they know...
  9. Without any sense we would be in with a shout of landing him, early doors I fancied Shelvey and Wijnaldum as candidates for Premiership team of the season.I know many have doubts about Shelvey, and maybe with good reason, however I think he has everything; a great all round midfield presence, and a bit of bite, self-belief and aggression. I would be delighted to welcome him. Add CB and striker, play Wijnaldum at AM and Sir Bob's your granddad.
  10. You've been on fire recently! I don't know how, I've barely tried in recent weeks, as apposed to trying and doing crap, like I was earlier in the season That's where I've been going wrong!! Probably not far from the truth too. Instead of just leaving the three weeks worth of results alone (18-20) over xmas: weeks 19 and 20 just shot from the hip (lip? finger??). I went back and looked closely at week 19: checked the bookies odds, recent form, home and away, previous meetings/any bogey teams, any notable absentees blah-de-blah made a load of changes and ended-up about five ponts worse off than I would have been! I am the Christian Benteke of predictions! BTW NUFC54 in terms of form, you are top scorer over the last five weeks (104 points); JoeyT top scoer over last three weeks with 73 points (you had 68 & three peeps all got 71: BeloEmre, Disco, and Barnes23).
  11. Wasn't around until Week 2 this year, but looks like there's been an impact. That may lessen as current teams are more known quantities now; that said, Chelsea will probably now be unbeatable and Leicester & Palace get massacred every week!
  12. Aston Villa 0-2 Crystal Palace Bournemouth 0-1 West Ham Newcastle 2-1 Man Utd Chelsea 2-0 West Brom Man City 2-1 Everton Southampton 3-1 Watford Stoke 2-0 Norwich Swansea 1-0 Sunderland Liverpool 0-2 Arsenal Spurs 3-1 Leicester
  13. That said POOT, you've missed a week and had a stinker last week (...we'll all have at least one I bet). Your average for the other 18 weeks is 16.6 which is pretty much mid-table: not pulling-up trees but more 'Everton than Sunderland'
  14. Three in a row, missed that, cracking run Astro! Doubt that'll be repeated (...providence duly tempted, you may go on and do a Vardy now! ) Apologies to Barnes23 also for missing joint top scorer - I'd mistyped your Everton vs Spurs as a 1-0, instead of 1-1.
  15. Great clip, thanks for posting. A life peppered with moments like that is a life worth living.
  16. All scores to be confirmed by Magpie. Weeks 19 & 20:Two good weeks, in which we managed above average weekly scores (18.4 & 19.1). The latter is the third highest to date and highest for 2016... (ahem...). Week 19 gave us 23 correct scores, 6 of which were doubled-up. Week 20 gave us 20 correct scores, 3 of which were doubled (all from Everton v Spurs—I imagine it is especially satisfying to get 10 points from the last game). Week 20 also returned an unusually high number of 6 points (13), mainly from our game: with ten players nominating us to lose to zero (mainly three or four nil). Jill gets the crystal ball for Week 19 (only one to pick Palace 0-0 Swansea), and Barnes23 for Week 20, for the satisfying Palace 0-3 Chelsea. Looks to me as if 11 players got 20+ points in Wk 19, and 13 in wk 20. Great scoring, well done all; but in particular NUFC54 and Disco, who I think (tbc) were top scorers, both scoring 29 points in Wks 19 and 20 respectively. Lawro would have scored an impressive 49 points in these two weeks (30 and 19, giving a total of 374), despite him getting nothing from his Liverpool to win 2-0 nomination this week; his guests Guy Mowbray and Steve Wilson, managed 31 between them (18 and 13). SAM (Sports Analytic Machine)/Super Computer (always develop/sound like a Makem when I say that in my head...) notched a fantastic 50 points (28 and 22), with five correct scores in two weeks.
  17. This lot think we were clearly the better team; I didn't see the game, but the match thread doesn't seem to reflect this. Were they just overly anxious, or did we 'better' the probable champions today? http://dailycannon.com/2016/01/player-ratings-v-newcastle-cech-and-koscielny-keep-arsenals-title-hopes-alive/
