  1. Given I knew nothing of him before I can't say I'm overly bothered if he goes to Chelsea but I wonder what the arguments in terms of actual football and developing as a player for going to Chelsea are. Beyond that they have Alonso I really can't think of any. There are so many cautionary tales there. I mean what even happened to Gittens? He seems to have disappeared.
  2. I like the general concept but the combination of the fat strips and the garish blue put me on the fence. I also have a suspicion that subtle differences will make the fan version look notably shitter than the real version and that this is a deliberate strategy from Adidas.
  3. I'd go for Rashford........ ........................ on loan, on the final day of the window with Man U picking up 75% of his wages.
  4. I endorse this list. Pass me the monkey's paw, if this happened it would be worth a chunk of my soul.
  5. Yeah if that happens that's pretty gross and not a bad microcosm of all the faults of modern football at the top level. From a footballing perspective there is huge risk for Anderson (financially the move would set him up for life). There would be huge pressure to perform at the highest levels straight away, but because of the quality of players in the squad he might not be given time to adapt and as others have said he could easily go the way of Phillips if he doesn't hit the ground running. Additionally with the manager change who knows how City will do next year. He's a good player but I haven't seen from him the performances and key attributes which would justify a fee in the region of what is being demanded.
  6. It's Play-Doh! Now you said it I can't unsee it.
  7. Oooo, that doesn't look good if real and I was someone who was fine with some of the earlier images. It looks like Adidas have done what they did with this season's kit where the fan version has noticeable design differences and just looks cheap (I'm assuming that is the fan version) compared to the player version. The shade of blue and the thickness of the Adidas stripes is really off.
  8. Is this legit? I'm going to sound like a hypocrite as I was critical of the overly simple/retro trend, but that is really, really nice. If so I may even buy that next May when is is 40% of its RRP.
  9. I think you miss my point. I took from your message and implied criticism of Gordon that he stopped wanting to play. I was saying that it was likely that this was a club decision not a Gordon one. Granted Gordon may well have not pushed back too hard on this decision given that a huge pay rise the the opportunity of playing for one of the giants of the game was in the offing, but still it's radically different to him downing tools on the quiet. Whether it was a good decision from the club is a different point. Hindsight being 20/20 and all, I think he should have at least come off the bench in a couple of those key games.
  10. Given how fast this happened there must have been conversations between Newcastle reps and Barca/Bayern reps and everyone knew he was off and so it was more not wanting to risk the move by him picking up an injury than him not wanting to play
  11. Oh dear, normally with a white kit what you can usually count on is while it may always be a bit dull it won't actively be bad. That's dull and bad, reminds me of our abomination of an away shirt this year in that way.
  12. 1. He helped us stay up by providing a focal point and doing over a direct rival. We also got a good chuck of our money back in the summer. 2. He was great on loan, but clearly the permanent signing didn't work out. 3. Free money.
  13. Any mention of a fee? Pope has been pretty rubbish this season and he would have all pre season to train and impress, so he could be No 1.
  14. I wouldn't say I'm happy about this but I'm very fine with it. Time is money as they say and this deal gives us money at a vital time, which in itself is worth about 10 million alone.
  15. From a dark humour perspective I kind of want the Greek keeper to have a 20% sell on clause no matter the fee received. I mean if you're going to fuck up royally you might as well really, REALLY fuck up royally.
  16. I thought Wilson's goal was the best overall. Great passing in the build up and then the finish with the outside of the boot was pure filth.
  17. Oooo that recalls to mind a run on a very wet November evening in around 2004 where I discovered for the first time the nipple shredding ability of one of our shirts of that era. That is a mistake you make once and only once.
  18. I owned it but I have no idea where it is now, an average shirt that was associated with a shit time for the club.
  19. The BBC says he's going to work as a 'Global Ambassador' for the City football group. What is the guessing that is a 1 year contract and is essentially to stop him going to work for a direct rival during what will no doubt be a transitional period for City. Their planning and strategy at the board level really is a cut above everyone else.
  20. Here is my view: https://youtu.be/SPune-eJS4k?is=q4KlNgJLiP2Nt6GD
  21. This is the shirt it immediately reminded me of too.
  22. Agreed, Juve's is just dull.
  23. I would put this as exhibit A in my list of shirts that prove my point that the overly simple/clean design style has well and truly run its course. Consider that fact that a whole team of people with multiple qualifications in design and collectively decades of experience designed this incredibly bland and dull shirt. I bet they were so bored doing it. It looks like a basic exercise shirt you would pick up at a knockdown price in Sports Direct.
  24. That's the one I was on about earlier. Because Arteta and Arsenal kicked up such a fuss over the Joelinton goal this much more cut and shut refereeing fuck up which occurred before the goal was totally ignored.
