  1. That goal underlines one of Burn's qualities. You'd fancy him to get his head to that while Kelly had a nightmare there and totally lost the massive Czech lad.
  2. It's quite amazing that since 2015 when he left the club and today Man United have spend close to, if not over, £1 billion on transfers and 36 year old Jonny Evan's still gets a game. Puts our not signing a RW into perspective.
  3. I was quite excited when we signed Slimani on loan. I was also excited when we signed Seydou Doumbia, Stephen Ireland and Facundo Ferreyra on loan. It's strange that my scouting career never really got started.
  4. I hope he comes back, scores a few then a relegation threatened team panics and buys him for £10 million in January. About the best we can hope for. Well this or him staying uninjured for the rest of the season but we all know how likely that is...
  5. I'd like us to do a very public £25 million offer just out of spite as I don't see Palace selling in January for sensible money. I do think he would be a good addition for anywhere under £35 million. I also love the idea of potentially 3/4 of England's backline playing for anyone club but especially ours. That must be so helpful in terms of building a cohesive team. On a related note I don't know who made the Parish - Dobby connection but I just can't unsee this. Imagine if he was your partner and someone showed you that, it would be ruinous to your sex life unless you had some very specific kinks.
  6. Also Osula can supposedly play on the wing too. I love Miggy but it's time to say good bye.
  7. Today he was much more the Tino of old which is a totally sensible thing to say of a 21 year old player .
  8. I largely agree with you and I think that people can be far too binary about players being good or bad based on how a signing works out. Often it's way more about the atmosphere/setup of the club a player goes into that decides if they are a success, rather than their innate abilities. This was why I left out players like Ekitike, though he's also doing well at Frankfurt Equally I do still feel we've been a tad lucky in some of our near misses.
  9. I wonder if like Lingard, Diego Carlos, Diaby, Maddison and perhaps even Szoboszlai we'll look back at not signing him as a bullet dodged.
  10. Great win. I was confident before the game and it's nice to see your confidence validated rather than have it act as another twist of the knife after a disappointing loss. It's so good to look at the bench and see players there who you really want to see start but who you can't work out how to fit into a starting line up.
  11. I played my wild card this week. I put in Isak and Wood and took out Pope in the hope of a goal fest tomorrow (that we come out on top of).
  12. I feel confident. I think it's finally coming together for us and Forest are decent but not as good as their last few games suggest and all good runs have to come to an end. The former player curse is a concern but I suspect it doesn't actually stand up to much statistical analysis, so I'm not focusing on that. If Wood scores it's because he's full of confidence not because he used to play for us. As for Tonali, Bruno or Longstaff, if he's fit Bruno starts he's captain after all. Between Tonali and Longstaff I just trust Howe's judgement on this, we need to get to the point where players drop in and out of the team and it is seen as purely a tactical decision rather than one based on the overall quality of a player.
  13. Absolutely the same here, though my disinterest could be sour grapes at work. I wonder what it's done to viewing figures overall.
  14. His injuries last season were up there with Pope's for why we missed out on qualifying for the UEFA cup and perhaps even the Champions League. He can be such a key player.
  15. It's so annoying to see Man U and Chelsea constantly fail upwards while we make generally cautious and sensible moves only to ram up against artificial constraints. I'm consoling myself with the fact that on paper this is the exact same type of appointment as Ten Hag. So it's no guaranteed ticket to success.
  16. I agree. Tonali generally plays the ball on more quickly, Bruno can take too long and put himself and therefore the team under unnecessary pressure.
  17. It was grim. They were pushing for promotion and so played their second team and we still lost. Deservedly. Be glad you don't have the memories it was peak (or ditch) Bruce.
  18. As much as I love the guy, Schär has locked shaky this season.
  19. Wow, what a blast from the past. He feels like ancient history, I looked him up. I'm a year older than him. Feck.
  20. Who is the second commentator? I missed the start, he's said he's played for Newcastle and I think he's been referred to as Darren? It's bugging me I can't think who it could be.
  21. From a purely Man United hating point of view this is good news. Ten Hag clings on to the job a bit longer as Tuchel isn't available anymore. Man U give him another transfer window to sign his former players for inflated fees and on inflated wages. Then Leeds dump them out of the 4th round of the FA Cup and he finally gets sacked and they bring in Southgate. 🤞🤞🤞🤞
  22. Well that was an....... interesting experiment. The no striker was very odd in particular. A couple of times I noticed that the was almost a hexagon of empty space where a striker should have been. I'm coming to the view that both Foden and TAA are great players but not suited to playing in this England team. The knock on effect of both of them on other players is too great and I've yet to see them do anything to suggest formations should be significantly alter to get them in a team more built around them. Tino has a great chance this year to make that RB slot his.
  23. I didn't watch the game but when Spurs went full Spursy did Postecoglu have that glum "The fuck am I meant to do now" look on his face? I've never seen anyone manage in game events as badly and I've watched a lot of Southgate's England.
  24. The reality of the two players is that they are both decent bench options to run at tired defences but not good enough to be regular starters. So you start Miggy and bring on Murphy I think he'd look better as Miggy has worn out the defenders a little. Start Murphy and it's visa versa.
  25. So Dubravka Tino - Krafthinio - Schär - Kelly Or Krafthinio - Schär - Kelly - Tino? I think I'd rather see the latter. Also Longstaff as the more holding midfielder?
