Their style of play comapred to ours requires alot more intensity to be effective. They press like crazy and commit more numbers forward in attack very quickly, it's extremely energy sapping. They were already showing noticeable signs of fatigue in their last game and their press fell off a cliff. They've been involved in tougher games, have had to travel more and play in Baku. We've been able to rotate players pretty well and have had comfortable games for the majority of our playing time. Against tired legs as the game goes on we definitely have the better options of the bench as well. To be honest I'm trying to convince myself more of this than anything, just to ease the nerves

Easy to feel sorry for him when we have nothing on the line. He will take a lot of (over the top) stick and seems a fragile character. If Joelinton did that to cost us a place in a final we'd all be furious mind

Be amazed if it wasn't the same lineup as the Germany game. Their high pressing style is impressive but it was noticeably less effective in the last round where they couldn't reach the same intensity and looked fatigued. We have some of the best on the ball CBs to deal with the press though and I feel like we don't throw enough forward to where we look too vulnerable to the counter. As other have said we should have a big advantage the later the game goes in terms of fitness and substitutes. I'm confident but it's certainly an awkward opposition to play against. No doubt the nerves will go into overdrive the closer it gets mind.

Can't really call 6 goals to nil in two knockout ties boring like. We've set up to be solid and limit the opposition's chances regardless of who we've played and been very consistent at it. We've chosen when to press and when to turn the screw in attack. It's been an extremely impressive and professional campaign so far. We've been able to sub key players off when needed, avoided suspensions, injuries and fatigue. It's been exactly what you want from a tournament side.

Feels like a very Rafa esque approach we've adopted. Such a solid foundation to work from when we barely concede any chances. With the attacking talent we have starting and to call from on the bench we are a seriously scary prospect for any side to face.

They'll knacker themselves and we'll pick them off after an hour or so I reckon.

We totally nullified Gosens and Kimmich btw. They destroyed Portugal when they set up with a back 4. Another clean sheet and Kane off the mark now, we have to really fancy ourselves going forward. We may setup negatively but we are blessed with the attacking options we can bring off the bench later in games.

For all the talk about our defence not being good enough we have looked very solid. Other than gifting Muller that chance ourselves I neve felt like we'd concede once we went ahead.

I'd get Saka over at LWB for Shaw and Sancho on the right. Rashford isn't really an out and out striker but he's got to offer more with his pace and running in the channels than Kane is.

To be fair he looked good in the champions League this year I thought. France haven't looked right all tournament. From the 4cbs and Tolisso playing on the wing against Portugal to the 3 ATB with Rabiot as a wingback tonight, it's been proper head scratching selections. It's actually quite impressive to make that selection of players look so lackluster in attack and so vulnerable at the back at the same time.

Feels strange loving football again.
