  1. Italy were impressive. Relentlessly going forward with numbers and pinning Turkey back, great pressure when they were without the ball too.
  2. Two of the other rightbacks just played in a champions League final, like. James bossed that right side of the pitch and Trippier was a key player for Atletico winning the league. Having Kane in the side it makes sense to go for fullbacks who can attack well, and have a good delivery.
  3. Think you could be overrating alot of the other squads. Other than France there's no others that are comfortably better than our own imo.
  4. Saw a few vids over the weekend of fans filming themselves at home booing the kneeling with the match in shot To be honest to me it feels very much like a PR exercise and a token gesture at this point though. The original kneeling in the US seemed to be against protesting the national anthem before games to highlight how inequality, racism and police brutality was so prevalent. It was an act of defiance. Over here it feels a bit disingenuous and hollow. The FA and clubs doing it so it looks like they're trying to make a difference without having to actually do anything. There's not much power behind the message when it's forced and comes from the top. I can totally understand why there's been a few black players come out against it and it makes them feel uncomfortable. It's a difficult one. Actually feels like we are going backwards with views and attitudes on racism in football though. Unbelievable the abuse that players have to put up with now. So there's a definite need for some sort of message and raising of awareness to be done.
  5. Love that. Had a couple in the 90's with a similair design that were lush too.
  6. Very box to box from what I've seen at Dortmund. Seems the perfect partner for a player like Rice. Have a feeling Southgate doesn't trust the defence enough in a back 4 to not play two defensive mids though unfortunately.
  7. Juve have been ran incredibly poor recently. Some terrible recruitment and managerial appointments that haven't made any sense. Midfield is so bad for what is supposed to be one of the top sides in Europe too. Ronaldo has been good for them, I don't think anyone can deny that. But they gambled on him being able to carry them to a Champions league irrespective of cost and it's backfired. They've created a huge problem for themselves where their best player doesn't really suit the style of play they've been trying to move towards with Sarri and now Pirlo and and they've had to cut corners elsewhere recruitment wise to afford him. Tactically and financially Ronaldo is a burden on them despite how many goals he's scored, but it's a bit daft to try and pin the blame on him.
  8. The Man United fans showed more in their protests then ours have in over a decade under Ashley.
  9. There's a lad on YouTube called Away Days who's massively into shirts and opens and reviews a lot of these types of services. Secretshirt was one where you could basically predict what you were going to get by looking at what was currently under £15 on classicfootballshirts site. There was another service hoying dhgate fakes in there's too.
  10. Definitely is a natural thing imo. Very few professional football players are totally two footed. Think about how many alternate their feet on set pieces etc. I can remember Cazorla would take them with both, but not many others. It's hard to create that same level of accuracy, whip, power etc no matter how much you practice. I'd say they majority are competent on both feet though, if you gave Mahrez for example a shooting drill on his right foot he'd probably finish the majority of them and look fairly comfortable. In a high intense game where you're running at full speed with a second or two to think and Van Dijk trying to push you off the ball it's a different story. The lack of technique is much more magnified in a pressure situation.
  11. Donnarumma playing is 200th Seria A game at 21
  12. Think in this Covid world he’ll be at PSG for the next 2 years at least I reckon - who can pay Ā£150m plus? His contract runs out next season.
  13. Think this one could get ugly. They'll be furious after dropping points to West Brom.
  14. Werner will come good imo. Clearly short of confidence and playing out of position but he's still looked a threat in alot of the games. Missed a lot of chances but it'd be much more worrying if he wasn't getting into the great positions so often. Daft to write him off after 1/3 of a season in a new league.
  15. Into 1st mainly as I keep forgetting to change my team before most game weeks and have got lucky Wouldn't have captained Salah this week for example when it came out he was being rested.
  16. Think Arteta has gone too far the other way. He's fixed them defensively somewhat but at the cost of most of their attacking threat and freedom. As a neutral they've became one of the most boring teams to watch.
  17. Batty was a super super player Kanji[/member]. I had a ST during his time with us and he was a top player. A great addition to the team. He really moved us on a level imho. Mad how he's gone completely incommunicado now. Literally, career finished, disappeared. Iirc he didn't particularly enjoy football in general. Strange that because he seemed very popular amongst his team mates etc. I'd heard he would go to training, work his bollocks off, go home and very rarely socialise etc. Shearer talked about it a bit on one of the MOTD podcasts. Basically said he drove an hour and a half each day to training, didn't really say much and would leave the second they were allowed to. Never once stayed behind or did anything extra he didn't have to do. Didn't keep in touch with any of his team mates and nobody knew what he was up to now. Keane mentioned not long ago he was in the top few toughest opponents he's even had to play against too which is decent praise.
  18. To be honest I'm definitely enjoying Man U fans transition from super arrogant to applauding and accepting mediocrity
  19. Aye, had this reputation as some kind of nice bloke of football when he was playing (probably because he's middle class) but seems to be a complete knob Definitely comes across as massive knob here like
  20. Thiago for £20m is amazing business. Couldn't think of a better CM that would improve their side in that formation that they could have got.

Really not a fan of the new Ramble format.
  22. Chelsea were missing Thiago Silva, Chillwell, Pulisic and Ziyech to be fair to them. They'll look miles better with those 4 in and Havertz with a few weeks training.
  23. Be amazed if Thiago Silva isn't there first choice, probably with Zouma.
  24. Knockout stages should always be single-match. Think it only works as there's no spectators at the moment. Neutral venues would be a right pisser for fans to have to travel to each round. Having it at one teams ground would give them way too much of advatange.
