  1. El Larguero (Spain): “The information that Emery's environment conveys is that HE STAYS. He had a very positive meeting with the Roigs (board). He liked the reaction of the players. The intention is to stay and dismiss the interest of Newcastle"
  2. Regardless if he ends up coming or not I have to say I'm not a fan of them leaking the story the day of a champions League game for his current side.
  3. Is Kessie still not signed a deal? Would be tough but would absolutely love to pick him up in the summer.
  4. It's daft trying to knock Howe's achievements with Bournemouth, like. He's quite clearly got something about him, the only reason he's not had a job since is down to purely his reluctance to leave the area. However, Emery is on a different level and has a much bigger pull when it comes to attracting players to the project. His knowledge of the foreign markets and European experience is massive and we have a much higher celing with him.
  5. Reckon Willock would play behind Wilson rather than as a defensive midfielder.
  6. I can't really remember it happening but been reading Arsenal fans saying he played him massively out of position as their number 10 when he was there. Think he went to Atletico and then got played as a left back
  7. Definitely worth the wait rather than snatching at Fonseca because he was available. Really impressed they've managed to pull this off.
  8. Conte is class but this has potential for a bit of a disaster I reckon.
  9. Heard Nuno described as looking like a depressed Jedi Knight and that's all I see now.
  10. Despite the results they've looked terrible most times I've seen them this season to be fair. Appointment never seemed a right fit for them from the start.

    Graeme Jones

It's a difficult situation to be honest. We don't have a win all season so obviously morale is low, there's been fighting amongst players recently and clearly some are unhappy about Bruce leaving. A lot of uncertainty around at the moment. There's no manager and most the players know they will be out the door soon enough as well. Jones is obviously out of his depth managing at premier League level but he was hired as a coach so we can't really use that stick to beat him with too much. Our squad is overrated as well. You look at that team and how many would realistically get in any other side in the league? The standard in the division feels higher this year, I just don't think this is a comfortable mid table side like some people think.

Doucoure isn't really a holding mid is he? Looks much better going forward I think.
  13. PpThe more I think about it I think us buying out Rafa's contract is a situation where everyone wins. I think he's the safest option to come in and secure our safety for this season and progress us in the next couple of years whilst improving the whole infrastructure of the club. He'll get a good project to work on as well as proper backing for what might be his final gig whist being worshipped here. Everton get a canny payout and some money they can spend in the window whilst making their fans happy.
  14. Reading that Fonseca only won 3 out of 22 games against the top 6 sides in Italy.

    Kieron Dyer

I imagine years of burning ÂŁ50 notes in front of fans didn't help his lungs. Came across well on the True Geordie podcast a while back, hope he's alreet.
  16. I think it's more his views on Covid and Black Lives Matter that's he's referring too.
  17. It's glorious to see Ole failing and having not only the full support from all rival fans but his pundit mates on Sky and a large majority of Man United fans. Long may it continue.
  18. The Froggy and Kaiz defence of Ole tonight should be good.
  19. Hard to have a go at the Everton fans for not wanting to fully accept him to be honest, as daft as that appears from our point of view. It will just never work out there for him, he's always going to be a few bad results from it turning toxic whatever he does.
  20. My stance is spretty simple. As fans we shouldn't be held accountable for the actions of our owners, we can't control that at all. However we shouldn't feel the need to jump to their defence anytime anyone has a go at them either. If other clubs fans want to protest, if Squires wants to draw cartoons, if pundits want to criticise them then it's fair enough. If they took over another club I'm sure we'd feel the exact same way about it.
  21. Really frustrating that the timing is so bad for this. Even if you throw a lot of money at someone like Potter I'm not convinced he'd ditch Brighton at this exact moment. Same with Emery and a few other names mentioned. The job (providing we don't go down) would be so much more appealing to a new manager come next summer with a full transfer window to work with. The mess Bruce has us in at the minute makes it vital we do take someone on now though but it's probably going to have to have to be someone neither the owners or fans would ideally want. Out of the names mentioned for out of work managers I'd probably just gamble on AVB, I reckon he'd put together a decent side with the funds available after a couple of windows.
  22. Tea towel stuff will die out quickly I reckon. It would happen at any club and is ultimately harmless really. It's a bit daft aye but it's just fans trying to have a bit of a laugh after years of misery. They aren't really showing solidarity for a human rights abusing regime.
  23. Just been watching some of the Overlap on Sky Sports. Scholes claiming he doesn't believe managers should get a payoff for essentially failing at their job but in this case Bruce deserves a massive payoff for the way the fans have treat him

    Transfer rumours

Just got player of the month in serie A.
  25. Couldn't afford Choudhury on loan a few weeks ago We could pay Messi to be the tea lady now
