I’ve massively soured on PIF this summer tbh. It’s really reiterated to me imo how we’re not and never will be a priority in ownership. Their domestic league and other footballing investments such as the Club World Cup will take precedence. To compensate for the obvious moral baggage, what I’d thought would distinguish PIF from others would be in delivering really ambitious infrastructure improvements. The stadium and training ground plans are at the “believe it when I see it” stage for me. The comms on the stadium has been staggeringly bad. It just doesn’t feel like they’re interested. I’d take a less grand ownership that prioritised the club above all else any day.

This summer

Andy Howe and Nickson have never left the cuck chair this summer.

On reflection, seems a strong personality and has a lot of experience at the top level. He might thrive at a club like NUFC. I’ll feel better about this move if we successfully move on Dubravka and Vlach. I do think it’s disappointing we’ve seemingly haggled all summer for the fee of our top target and we’re now paying a substantial loan fee for our backup target.

It has been one of the worst windows I can remember. We are woefully ill equipped to compete in the Champions League. I’m extremely concerned about how the squad will cope with the demands of the season.
