Football hooliganism in France has been mental and rife as fuck since crowds came back after COVID. Was it this bad before?

Fully agree. You look at the keepers mentioned, Allison was £67m and Ederson £35m. Both becoming the most expensive keepers of all time at the time of their signings. But I struggle to think of an elite side, which we're striving to become, with a keeper with as poor ability on the ball as Pope. Its a medium term issue though, far more pressing matters in the squad.

5 months late but thoughts on this again? Ba or Wilson? I'd say Wilson is definitely our best since Shearer as it stands; his goals and goals per 90 even in Bruce's teams is superb. I do however think Isak should take the 'best since Shearer' title off Wilson eventually. Wilson is a fantastic poacher but his all round play outside the box flatters to deceive imo. Our press and build up is much better with Isak up front.

Big fan of Pope who is a huge reason why we finished 4th last season. We don't do as well over 38 games with Dubravka in net. But I do think we may need an upgrade when the summer comes round. He's absolutely atrocious with the ball at his feet; shit myself whenever the ball is passed back to him and have nowhere near as much confidence in him when comes out his area anymore. That's much, much easier said than done though; keepers like Allison are one in a million where he's outstanding in all goalkeeping aspects and with the ball at his feet. Ederson is the best with the ball at his feet in the league but I don't rate him anywhere near as highly as I do Allison in terms of an all round GK. Unsure where that keeper for us may be.

The absolute state of Man Utd.

On our way to it the way things are going.

The amount of space Haaland had there, almost incredible.

Top half is as good as its been for years but the bottom half is as shocking as its been for years as well.

With an obligation to buy for £35m. We will have done by the end of this season.

Is this the pre match thread or the draw thread?

Yeah I meant that Tonali started most games from the outset; he started the first 4 anyway. And true, but he still doesn't take time to bed players in, think its a bit of a misconception. And I remember that as well because the management of the games he was playing was a bit odd. Forest (h) benched. Schär and Burn started CB. Brighton (a) started with Schär. Man City (h) started with Schär. Wolves (a) started with Schär. Liverpool (a) benched. Lascelles and Burn started CB. Palace (h) started with Schär. Bournemouth (h) benched. Schär and Burn played CB. Then he started for the rest of the season. Was a bit odd, like.

No. People think back to Bruno taking until March 2022 to get his first start with this but Tonali started every game from the start of this season. As soon as Isak was available he started games. Botman started 3 out of his first 4 games after signing.

Really hard to disagree. The summer looks worse and worse by the week; we're playing the exact same XI as last season in spite of the extra games and they're blowing out their arse in late October. Obviously much of that is unforeseen with Barnes' injury and Tonali's ban but the outlay on Livramento and Hall contrasted with their game time even in game situations like tonight look more puzzling as the season goes on.

If Neto doesn't go off we get beat. Probably a decent point. Thought Schär was outstanding again.

Lazy as fuck from Joelinton, that.

State of these brummie mutants.

Hopefully a full pack of starving, radgie ones. State of him here.

Trippier dropping a stinker thus far.

Goodman in tears again. Heinous cunt. Trippier needs to give his head a shake here, like.

VAR having another masterclass I see.

Very true. Just thinking about it since they were promoted; 2018-19: Both games on TV. Yedlin sent off, originally marked for boycott home game and Dubravka being climbed all over by Boly Monday night away game. 2019-20: Home game on TV. Longstaff sent off. 2020-21: COVIDball. 2021-22: Home game on TV. Friday night Chris Wood pen. 2022-23: Both games on TV. Saint-Maximin volley away game and Isak & Almirón goals in a 2-1 win home game.

I'm almost 23 and been banging this drum for a couple years now. Since promotion in 2017 it's massively deteriorated.

I think last night it was a case of expecting to beat Dortmund; they had 1 point, were yet to score and hadn't won in England for 7 and a half years. I felt it went flat after 20 minutes; it took a similar pattern as PSG, Dembele had a chance early doors just like Dortmund did last night but the difference was we scored early v PSG. The longer the first half went on without us scoring the flatter it got. That seeped into the 2nd half.

Posted this a few times now I think but there's a row of seats in the East Stand; a mate of my dad's, my old seat, my dad, another mate of my dad's, mate of mine. I was buying my old seat all of last season and the season before. I'll likely never get it again, whereas others are winning it in the ballot, sitting there and have been deadpan silent. There was a young lass there last night who left at HT. There was a student on his phone for most of the game there against Palace. While I'm fucking desperate to get in for any/every game and am sitting in seats I never would in years gone by. Understand this is a bit selfish but it's fucking shite.
