  1. He's served his purpose, played a role in us staying up comfortably from a position of genuinely deep shit. Nowt but the best from me.
  2. How? I just see some footballers celebrating a win.
  3. I don't see what issue is here? Players listening to music and dancing after getting into a League Cup semi final. How is this different to Dan Burn's dancing after we beat Leicester?
  4. Maybe but the big six hardly ever do deals with each other either. Man City and Arsenal the only two I can think of with Jesus and Zinchenko but that's most likely down to Arteta and Guardiola being close. Almost all of the big six's main signings come from abroad.
  5. Maybe but why did Villa loan us Targett in that window? Surely they'd have wanted us down as well? I wanted him on loan in January last year as we needed a wide attacking player and his form when he previously had regular game time when at West Ham was brilliant. Knew we'd be able to get a younger, better player once we'd stayed up.
  6. Aye they just need to offer a way to get people's foot off the ground. I only started going to away games or at least trying to get to away games from when I was 15 but I could never get to loads due to school and cost. I had a measly 8 points () before I moved down to uni and chucked my ST due to the price hike, logistics, Ashley and Bruce. I've been able to get to Leicester last season and Fulham this season from tommo being exceptionally kind and sorting me out, but in order to get to away games that's the route I have to do it.
  7. I rule out getting rid of the loyalty point system altogether, completely unfair on those that have done the miles and paid the money. But younger fans will never get the opportunity to follow us away like older fans did in the 80s and 90s, where I assume (correct me if I'm wrong) they were just sold on a first come first serve basis? You hear stories of like Derby, Leicester, Grimsby away in 1992 and 1993, the European aways, kids/younger fans will never get the chance in future which is a right shame.
  8. Always thought that the only potential solution is to some way allow people to get their foot on the ladder via other means, ie x amount of points for every ST renewed, cup/European ticket bought, x amount for every away ticket bought still but 1 point per each bit of club merch from the shop or site bought, food/drink from the ground bought. Do the latter via swiping/scanning your membership or ST card when buying stuff in person (which would require the club to get on board with making ST/membership cards contactless or have a QR code that's scanned, mind). It's a closed shop atm and its looking like people with <20 points will never be able to get to an away game ever again in the coming years, as even when a potential game does drop relatively low those with high amounts of points will just buy them and sell them on. No system will ever be perfect like.
  9. Was just about to say, nowt to fear on Saturday like. Even without Bruno.
  10. Urrrrf, Eddie Howe what are you cooking?
  11. Must have someone lined up? Surprised if we let him go, given Isak has only just come back from long term injury and Wilson's fitness record.
  12. No idea, but he did. No report of any clause. Just an FYI, not upset.
  13. Dunno why his name keeps getting mentioned, he signed a long term contract with Watford in at the end of the summer window and we didn't want to pay what Watford wanted before he signed that.
  14. The Wood signing still being questioned a year on after he started in 17 games last season of which we won 10, stayed up comfortably and are now sitting 3rd in the PL this season. A year to the day on from when Howe had apparently not improved us at all, was certainly taking us down and we just had to get Benitez in to sort it out.
  15. Man Utd's away ticket system is pretty much a ballot but I think you have to have be a ST holder and been to x number of cup games one season in order to enter next season's ballot. But there's no guarantees of getting any tickets because of the fact that it's a ballot and thousands apply. All systems where demand is high either are a closed shop or you've got negligible chance as we're seeing.
  16. I won't be a Geordie due to living in Chester-le-Street if you ask the massive lads fans despite being born in the RVI so here goes. My fatha wasn't arsed about football despite going to nigh every Newcastle home game between 1969-75ish like most men in the north east outside the proud English white city of Sunderland but then all of a sudden on a sunny day in 1992 King Kev knocked on his Gateshead door with a free Sky dish and declared the North Sea was retreating so he could now support Newcastle. So here I am. Nah but seriously this thread is great.
  17. Really not surprised. Never thought we'd get him this window given the state of Leicester atm. But if we're in the top 4 come the end of the season he's almost certainly playing for us next season imo.
  18. In here onwards as well. A brilliant read.
  19. I was at that game. It was 5-1, we actually took the lead as well. One of countless abjectly shit performances under McClaren. We were abysmal away from home that season.
  20. Recounted them so many times this time last year when defending Howe to people who were questioning him/wanted him gone that they're etched into my brain.
