    Andy Cole

As someone who missed out on the period, if I could watch or experience one of the sides or seasons from that era it's 1993-94.

    Andy Cole

One of Keegan's only mistakes, selling him? I know they had a fall out in October 1993ish and their relationship was probably not the same after but selling someone with a scoring record as ridiculous as Cole's was I don't think I'll ever get. It almost paid off. But it didn't.
  3. Got to trust Howe and Ashworth on this, they've done far more than earn that from clueless cunts like me but this is a bit underwhelming, ngl. Hope he proves me wrong.
  4. I think we need to freshen it up a bit in terms of signings tbh, given how paggered Wilson has looked and the lack of edge about the front 3 of Joelinton, Wilson and Almiron that we've seen. But even still we've had enough chances to win the league games we've had bar Arsenal comfortably imo. Leeds especially and we should've been leading the Fulham game at half time. Palace maybe not so, but on another day Joelinton connects with that shot better, Wilson gets his free header on target or Trippier's set pieces/crosses are better. Likewise with Leicester two weeks ago and on Tuesday night, we should've been leading well before we got the first goals in those games. It's why I think we're building up to just totally battering someone. But given the squad depth we can't afford to massively rotate bar bringing Isak and ASM back in, which is why I feel that needs to be rectified in the coming 4-5 days. Opportunity missed if we don't imo.
  5. Aye, should've scored at least once in the first half v Fulham. Wilson especially, should've scored after a great turn in the box. At Palace I thought Joelinton should've done better in the first half with the shot he scuffed, Wilson had more or less a free header in the second half also but our crossing and set pieces were poor in that game overall imo. Missed a few chances v Leicester in the cup before taking the lead, Longstaff inside the first 30 seconds especially should've scored. Wood and Longstaff missed some great chances also v Leeds. Like back in August/September though I think we're building up to absolutely pummelling someone soon like we did v Fulham, Brentford and Villa. We scored 5 v Brentford but that was us punishing every single mistake they made, wasn't really a 5-1 on the balance of the 90 minutes. But the Villa game was relentless, could've and probably should've won that by 6.
  6. I didn't in their last 5 home games last season either, but they got them.
  7. I know it's impossible to predict owt from just the look of fixtures but Everton's run in is awful. Spurs (h) Man Utd (a) Fulham (h) Palace (a) Newcastle (h) Leicester (a) Brighton (a) Man City (h) Wolves (a) Bournemouth (h) I still don't think they'll go down mind for some reason. Think they'll put a run of results together in their home games like last season.
  8. Hate that it's another midweek night game down there again. Scarred from last season.
  9. Not the best look refusing to train if true, like. Gonna be quite the amount of beewwwws if he signs here and plays in the game at Goodison in April.
  10. Struggling to figure out why a GIF I've never posted in this thread is linked to my request for a Forest away ticket in the ticket forum, mind.
  11. Not a single Saturday 3pm from December until at least April.
  12. He's been quality like. Been better than Botman for me, but only marginally. This is definitely his best form for us, much better than when he was last mint in Benitez' 3-4-3 in the latter half of 18/19.
  13. I'd put the bevvies down, without wanting to sound like a patronising wanker. Those who didn't give their ST up before the takeover were in my eyes more or less gambling on the current state of affairs eventually happening: sticking it out until Ashley was going. Some saw that as wrong but I never did tbph, the debate on matchgoing fans on here and in general was tedious as fuck imo and has been since it started around 2014ish. They're no less or more Newcastle fans than me or anyone else. They stuck it out and are reaping the rewards for doing so. Same with those with a high amount of loyalty points. So fair enough to them. On top of that the atmospheres at games have been poor for years bar a select few games under Benitez and now Howe. Small adjustments need to be made in regards to singing section(s), safe standing, size of the family enclosure and it'll be class again. Who has STs now has no bearing on that. My own personal circumstances are I more or less had to chuck my ST, due to no longer qualifying as a junior (haha), the price hikes and the logistics of getting games whilst being at uni down in Derby. On top of that Benitez left and Bruce came in so there was extra incentive to chuck it. But regardless, my ST went from ~£220 for the 2018-19 season to £811 for 2019-20 and I could not justify paying that whilst a student who was to be moving and living down in the East Midlands given travel costs et cetera. I wish never chucked it now obviously but no one could've foreseen this wave of positivity.
  14. No idea if I've read too much into this but Isak seems just ice cold. Doesn't give a toss (in a good way), as in he could miss a couple chances in a game and it'd not affect him whatsoever. You see him get interviewed and he seems so laid back, so cool and calm, at times looking like he's trying not to laugh. He's class. I love him. Probably far too much for someone who's yet to hit double figures in terms of appearances for us.
  15. Not surprised it got a bit feisty tbh after that nonce had a go at Bruno for being fouled.
  16. Thought he was fading a bit in the second half in that 10-15 minutes after the Joelinton miss but seemed to perk up once ASM and Isak were on. Whole team did tbh.
  17. Eddie has as many wins at Southampton already as we had in the previous 49 years.
  18. Aye, similar feelings atm as in late August and September. Someone's getting twatted soon like we did to Fulham and Brentford.

  20. Needs to start now. Relieved the pressure we were under for the 10 minutes after the Joelinton miss to the point where it was all us again.
