  1. Bournemouth aren't in my ideal 20 teams that would make up the PL. Get them down, get Leeds, Forest and Derby up. (I know it's looking almost certain that WBA will come up but oh well)
  2. Changes made a half too late. Gayle scores and it's much more nip and tuck. That first half showing was pathetic though. Main positive is it's one less stick that the morons in the media can beat us with in regards to 'giving Bruce a chance' should the takeover go through.
  3. Bruce and Guardiola made a pact to start their worse keepers like?
  4. He might love it here now as its a new league, but if we stagnate or go backward he will likely want away. With the talent he has, only makes sense he will want to play for a more ambitious club. Especially if he misses out on the Euro 21 squad. Hence why I said if the takeover happens.
  5. Personally don't think the Saudis will allow this deal not to go through and they'll make the concessions to the arseholes at the PL. MBS wouldn't want Qatar pretty much preventing one of the most high profile acquisitions that PIF has made so far. I mean, this is a guy who replied to a question asking if anything can stop him with "only death".
  6. If this takeover happens I can see him staying here for years. Think he genuinely loves it here.
  7. I love him to bits because of how he transformed us last season and his huge grin while doing so. It's taken him a while to score but pre COVID it looked like he'd started to pick up a bit in goals and assists. Not setting the league on fire but starting to pick up in those departments. He runs his bollocks off every game but I think his main issue is he doesn't look up when he's running with the ball and that hinders his ability to finish or to just make the right decision. I refuse to judge any attacker based upon how they've done under Steve Bruce and the way we've been playing for the vast majority of the season. Mainly him and Joelinton. It would be difficult for anyone. ASM is different because he's top class and will only get better but the 5-4-1 we'd been playing was bollocks in games against shit teams. No wonder we've had so many 0-0s at home.
  8. Otamendi will be centre half on Sunday then.
  9. He was decent in the back end of last season under Rafa too. If Bruce remains, maybe.

You've forgot Muto. Don't blame you like.
  11. We don't have new owners yet though. Yeah that’s what the discussion is, is this a Ashley is staying decision or not. The club still has to keep going, offering new contracts isn't relevant to the takeover. It isn't in the interests of Ashley/Charnley to lose players they consider assets, when there's still the potential for this deal to later fall through and them have lost said assets. it's amazing how many people think everything stops at a business when a takeover is happening. Tbf it feels like we've been told it pretty much does by Ashley nearly every fakeover. It was often the whole point of the previous fakeovers to stop business being conducted. Can't say I'm surprised if people are concerned that business suddenly seems to be kicking off again. I'm just as concerned as I have been the whole time because I just don't believe we're allowed nice things. An argument could be made that they were fakeovers, sprung up to cease business or astronomically reduce it to undermine Rafa. This however is genuine and is an answer from the PL away to being announced. Business hasn't ceased because there is no real reason for it to. Fully agree with you there. But that doesn't mean I'm surprised that the waters have been muddied for various people in part due to the constant stream of bullshit thrown about by the club for the past thirteen years, especially for those with no involvement in the workings of business takeovers. Which is totally fair as it's hard to separate anything takeover related apart from the failed attempts or PR stunts from Ashley's mates. But when you think about this takeover logically, Manquillo and Carroll signing extensions and a free agent being signed will have zero bearing on this takeover nor does it mean Ashley is expected to still own the club. Ashley probably couldn't care less what's happening at the club as long as he gets his £300m.

  14. Best RB we have. Still want us to try for Max Aarons if there's a takeover though.

Aye, pay as you play isn't it? Just a shrug from me in regards to this in particular.
  16. As long as he's sitting next to Katie Cutler every time. Also would bet on there being a couple Raoul Moats n'al.
  17. Full quote is "There is a feeling among some that a press release from the Saudi Intellectual Property Authority on Tuesday night has not been helpful, but it is not known what effect this will have on the timing or the outcome of the League's announcement."
  18. I'm just totally meh about Bruce personally. Should this takeover go through which it looks like it will *touches wood* this season will, for me, become a total non-event in the history of Newcastle United. Probably just remembered as the one we signed ASM in or the one after Rafa left. The sooner that the club changes hands and a top quality manager, preferably one of the three that have been mentioned in the press when the story broke, comes in as soon as humanly possible.
  19. Erling Haaland looks like he'll become one if he isn't already.
  20. That's the main thing I think he got right. Right players at the right time and it created a goal. He does need to mix it up a little for City though or it'll implode The Gayle sub was due to an injury to Ritchie, mind. Think we'll revert to the 5-2-3/5-4-1 against Man City like we did when we got the draw in November. Don't think we'll get hammered but it won't be a pretty watch.
