  1. The fact that he has openly put out a statement saying the club is for sale, negotiations have been going on for weeks and the Sky "interview" was practically an advert saying "please come and take this club off of my hands", suggest that he does have intention of selling it. The risk of relegation coupled with the current squad that we have put the club miles away from his £380m valuation or whatever it is. He won't get a better deal for it than a bid in the range of £250m-£320m. He openly put out a statement in 2008 to say the club was up for sale as well, only it wasn't really. Plus his interview was a way of sticking 2 fingers up to Rafa and the fans. Can't fully recall the 2008 statement or whenever it was, but this must seem different to then. The Sky interview was that, but journalists and fans alike managed to encapsulate it as an advert for the club. The whole thing was staged, there is a reason why he chose to say 'if someone wants to take this seat and fund NUFC' et cetera in it. He wants out. It makes financial sense for him to do so, as well as just sense in general.

  3. That makes no financial sense whatsoever for him. All the bloke cares about is money, don't get this narrative of him being aroused by annoying the fans. The bloke is just thick as fuck when it comes to football, and looks to do things (things being PL survival and nothing more) the most cost effective way. He won't be willing to lose £125m+ of value on the club trebled with the loss of the most prized asset the club has in the manager and the PL TV money, just to upset the fans.
  4. Aye. Can understand the fretting after the article after years of disappointment and ever shifting goalposts. This time though, Ashley shifting goalposts makes no financial sense for him.
  5. So the piece in the Times was bollocks then. The fact that both sides are still negotiating shows that this whole thing hasn't been bullshit. Ashley doesn't have a personal vendetta against the club or the fans, some saying he's going to fuck the club for one last laugh is just daft. He's only ever loyal to money and doing that (fucking the club and fans over one last time) makes zero financial sense, not one jot. This will drag on probably past Christmas and into January. Doesn't mean it won't happen, doesn't mean Rafa is going to leave half way through the season. My gut feeling is pretty much what that Purslow bloke said on Sky last night. There HAS to be money, at least some money, £20m-£30m give or take, to ensure survival. When it's ensured, the club will probably be sold. Hate to be pretty much saying "#wait" but that looks like the way it's going. Be patient and don't fret unless concrete news is out that PCP has pulled out of the deal or something similar.
  6. I think it is tbh. Respected NE journalists have said otherwise and not commented on that piece/story. The contradiction of the headline in the piece. The fact that the piece isn't on the Times website. Again, it might be straw clutching, but I reckon it's bollocks. The applying of Murphy's Law to everything NUFC gets a bit boring for me. I want to have hope. There's nothing out there concrete to suggest this won't happen, the vast majority of things points towards it happening. Just not in time for next month, when we need it to. Don't see what difference it makes but it's here: https://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/sport/mike-ashley-given-two-weeks-to-accept-offer-for-newcastle-united-zt7x8m52h The fact it's on their back page gives it more credence than a web article anyway IMO. Now they put it on. Still, other things I said I stand by. If I'm wrong, I'll hoist with my own petard of hope then.

  8. They'll go on sale in the next couple of weeks, and season tickets aren't used for cup games. You'll get 3 together no problem.
  9. Either way, more well known NE journalists, Ryder, Douglas, Hope, Caulkin et cetera haven't commented on that Times strip on Twitter or in articles, and those journalists are certainly more clued up about the goings on at NUFC than Matt Hughes who's penned that little strip in the Times. May be straw clutching but I'll wait until one of those 4 NE journalists has commented on this "take it or we're off" narrative. Purslow's comments at Sky as well as Craig Hope in the TF podcast seem to point towards a limited budget for Rafa in January and a takeover happening later, probably when/if safety is secured in April or May.
  10. Yep. But the headline will get the attention and many won't bother reading the article. Aye. Doesn't mean the whole thing is off. Purslow is probably correct in what he says.
  11. What that Christian Purslow bloke said on Sky may prove the case then.
  12. Either he accepts that () or money needs to be spent next month, otherwise the club will be worth 30% of his valuation. Boo f***ing hoo eh, you fat c***? Sell up and f*** off.
  13. "Ashley given two weeks to accept offer...she [staveley] has not set a formal deadline"
  14. I’d buy a f***ing keeper shirt if we got Casillas If you want to be labelled a massive nonce, that's up to you.
  15. I caught the end of a discussion on Sky sports news where some bloke in a suit was saying that anyone wanting to buy Newcastle would probably wait until the end of the season now because our form makes relegation a real possibility, and they wouldn't be wanting to pay £300m for a club which could end up in the championship. PCP definitely have the whip hand, and Ashley will be cursing Rafa for not miraculously getting us to 20 pts by now. It was Christian Purslow, used to be MD at Liverpool: http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11678/11156852/likelihood-of-a-newcastle-takeover-before-the-new-year-is-fanciful-says-christian-purslow I noticed this: I don't recall that? No f***er will pay £400m. Is that a new clip, Dave? The article that that link takes you to came out an hour ago. EDIT: Ah yes it is, it's just I remember that bloke being on SSN a few weeks ago talking about our potential sale. He said pretty much the same thing back then.
  16. I'd drop Lejeune and play Clark and Lascelles if the latter is back from injury.
  17. https://twitter.com/Ali_Perros/status/937765746402320389 We're winning the Cup, lads.
  18. Can't wait to see a load of teenagers shitting and pissing in the stands.
