  1. Agree with that, but he's still a reliable ball winner, and would probably pair up well with Willock.
  2. First thing I do on every FM is search for a new LB.
  3. Was just getting ready to post something similar. He can definitely do the job of DM quite effectively, if the rest of the midfield take care of their own responsibilities.
  4. If it's not a public process then the only way the public would be aware is through a public announcement. Obviously this doesn't mean they've formally withdrawn but it certainly implies as such. A hell of a lot more than it implies they haven't.
  5. What do you mean by behind the scenes? As in unreported?
  6. One of the comments, under the footage of the Marseille game, states "I do miss terraces". Weird response.
  7. And the global advertising. Don't forget the global advertising.
  8. There may be people that are interested in owning the club but, due to the fat cunt, have no desire to buy it.
  9. Maybe if the English fans were allowed to use flares they wouldn't end up expressing themselves in a violent, reactionary manner.
  10. I wonder if TV contracts have any influence on such a decision.
  11. So advanced he's almost lapping last place.
  12. Yes. Taking a knee is an American football term. I've only heard of it as a way to run down the clock, but I guess a QB could chicken out of a sacking.. But yes, taking a knee during the national anthem [sung at every game I believe] is an effective protest against institutionalised racism in the US. Taking the knee, as part of the schedule after singing your heart out to the national anthem, seems to ignore that. Still, like I say, it has been provocative enough to be somewhat effective at outing arseholes. Meanwhile Prince Andrew is still a free man.
  13. The abscess makes the heart grow fonder, eh?
  14. I think we are. We have two generations that have grown up in an environment focussed on eradicating racism. In the 70s/80s people were coming from an era of tolerance. Parents in those times were more tolerant of their own parents' hatred of the other because they had fought in wars against the others that they hated. I, personally, can still excuse my Grandad for referring to the Japanese as Japs, for example. Doesn't mean I do the same, as I have no reason to do so, and I will always remind his daughter of that.
  15. Exactly. The poor sod doesn't get a chance to catch his breath.
  16. Oh come on. It's been changing over the generations. We're a world away from the late 70s/early 80s. Look at the past when looking to the future.
  17. You could always take the respect for our players that happen to be black as a sure sign tat the booing isn't because of racism. There probably are one or two racists in the pack but I'm certain [for the majority] it's a political statement. Without doubt, it's not the place for it, and if the guilty parties get banned for life they will be no loss.
  18. Devalue or disrespect, same thing really. In fairness though, I agree that you can't blame people. But only because I know I've done it myself.
  19. I've got to be honest I've always questioned the value of taking the knee in football, in England. Would never boo it, but I just thought it was an empty gesture. Then I watched a clip of Willock and his parents, they seemed isolated and uncomfortable [maybe just my imagination] and couldn't help worry that their concern was a result of the booing. Massively relieved to see his mum enjoying herself at 2-1. Also massively relieved to hear that the applause at the end of the TOTK outdid the boos. I genuinely don't think [the majority of] people are booing the gesture because they support racism, I think they're just misguided in their protests. Edit: But yeah. I'm fully behind it now. as you say it's got people talking and it's provoked a few arseholes to reveal themselves.
  20. 33% of marriages end in divorce. I think those that go to get away from the wife have a stronger case. Unless you're not cancelling because the missus love the real housewives of Dunston.
  21. Empty stadium would mean more room for SD adverts. The TV companies have already demonstrated that they are prepared with the fake authentic sounds of the crowd.
  22. Did you not hear what Bertie Brucester said "We have to tighten up, THAT'S FOR SURE"
  23. Extra training this week then? Thought not.
  24. OK so if every fan in the country cancelled their subscriptions, the broadcasters would continue to pay billions? I know that will never happen but it demonstrates the stupidity of your argument.
