Aye i admit it was quite bitter towards him at the time. We got relegated by 1 point that season and he would've easily won us enough points for us to stay up. His stock was high at the time, i don't think he would've had any bother securing a move to an ambitious club in the summer.

Surely if you're selling something and you want to get the best price possible, the last thing you do is announce to potential buyers that you're deseperate to sell it? (Which is effectively what Ashley has done by saying he wants it done before Xmas)
-
For years now i've had the same policy when listening to anything coming from Mike Ashley or one of his cronies... Assume they're lying. I think i'll continue to do that for now.

Apart from his goal i thought he was poor yesterday. Again he seemed to find some decent positions but his final ball was terrible or he took too long to do something with it. It's really frustrating as i thought he'd be a much more incisive player by this stage of his career. Having said that, i'm willing to stick with him for now as there are signs he could be quality for us - his workrate, strength and ability to find space have all improved under Rafa. Plus the talent is definitely there - that flick over the defender's head and 1st time through ball to Atsu in the Liverpool game was outrageous! If he can start giving us more moments like that and add a better goal ratio in the next couple of months then we've got a class player on our hands. He's got the monkey off his back now with his 1st goal of the season, let's hope he can kick on now. Rafa has got faith in him so why shouldn't i? ?

I've only seen the goal once but i thought exactly that. It seemed to me like Manquillo had done a decent job in forcing him away from goal, usually in that situation a team mate would come and help the defender out but it didn't happen on that occasion. I was expecting the ball to go wide and out for a goal kick, i was very surprised to see it go in the net. Elliott should've done better IMO.

Florian Lejeune (now playing for Rayo Vallecano)
Away Day Gadgie replied to sempuki's topic in Football
He played well apart from his error, but it was a pretty huge error to be fair. Absolutely no need to do it at all. I'd 100% have Clark back for the next game, he's proven over time to be a reliable player whereas Lejeune hasn't proven anything yet. Interested to see what Rafa does next week now. -
It’s his first mistake for us, calm it down eh? I'm clam thanks. He's played about 97mins of football for us and loads of people on here go on like he's a footballing god. It was a schoolboy error. No they didn't. Exactly. People only ever claimed he was looking promising. Ok i probably exaggerated but i just didn't get the excitement over a few decent pre season performances. It was a bit over the top IMO. That was meant to be my point.

They could call us whatever they feel comfortable calling us. I certainly wouldn't expect them to try and say "Newcastle" in an English or Geordie accent.

Enjoyed reading their forum this morning. Subjects include - - Fat Spanish Waiter is going to Everton - Cattermole is shit (again ) - Deluding themselves into thinking that their actual attendance yesterday was more than 20,000 and "Newcastle fans are just 52,000 sheep following the crowd" - Some nonce begging for Di Canio back Grim times for them
-
What was this? I called him a sad t***, which was harsh on 2nd thoughts. that's just nasty
-
In that case i demand they start being consistant and call Munich "Munchen" and Paris "Paree" or however they say it. ?
-
I find it irritating like. Sure i mentioned commentators doing it with players names a couple of weeks ago. Didn't know there was a ruling council on what you're alllowed to have as a pet hate on here mind
-
Nah not really. I personally wouldn't do it. The only way i would change it is if there was a danger that a Spanish person wouldn't understand what i meant. But that's not likely since i'm pretty sure the Spaniards are used to Brits and our shitty pronunciations by now. Absolutely no need to try and sound intelligent or cool, or whatever it is these commentators are trying to achieve.
-
I agree with sbnufc. There's no need for English people to pronounce it like that (unless maybe you're in Spain). Just call it Valencia like normal people do man.
-
Probably using a live table and not taking into account the results as they stand are accounted for. That's exactly what i did
-
I thought Bolton had 5 points and they had 7.
-
Bolton winning aswell. Could be bottom by 5pm

Weren't both games last season absolutely awful? Definitely one of them was a diabolical 0-0 on a Monday night that they'd been touting all weekend. "RED MONDAY" Fucking Red Monday aye!!! Cheesy bastards! Probably thought up by someone like that cunt Jim White.

Great news! I'm assuming we had an obligation to buy him after a certain amount of games played but we decided to activate the deal early cos he's fucking mint. Let's hope he can continue to get better and better so Fat Mike can make a massive profit on him next summer and he plays a massive part in us becoming a Premier League force again
