  1. Seems like a canny bloke. Who the fuck calls then "falsies"?
  2. Question for people more knowledgeable on Finance/Business than i am..... Would it make sense for Ashley to cut his ties with NUFC before the s*** hits the fan with this upcoming tax scandal? ie. Would it affect Sports Direct's share price if their major shareholder was found to be involved in fraudulent activities with another of his businesses? Obviously selling the club wouldn't absolve him of blame by any means but maybe it would take some of the heat away in the manner that it's reported in the press, therefore protecting what remains of his reputation? Like i say i'm not any sort of finance expert, just thinking of possible scenarios.
  3. Really? Never knew that...love both of their styles. Probably enjoy them a bit more now Yeah spoken to them both, neither of them are from up here so clearly Keeganites edit** Sorry i think Amir lived here or something.
  4. Trance DJs Will Atkinson and Amir Hussein are both Toon fans.
  5. How do you know a fair percentage of fans think it's s***? Please don't say you're basing that on what a dozen or so people on here (who love to moan about anything anyway) are saying. From what I've read on social media the name has been quite well received and the Wor Hyem and Gallowgate Flags Twitter accounts both had similar sized followings (4.5k each) so the earlier comments about the name not reaching out to people on places like Twitter/Facebook etc are largely unfounded. They could have came up with a better name, I agree, but what the group are called isn't going to stop most normal people from chipping in a few quid every now and then when they have a big display planned or from holding up a flag before the match. Anyone standing there in the huff, arms folded and refusing to participate when one of the surfer flags goes over their head because they don't like a name is a bit of a tit tbh. To be honest i am mainly going off what posters on here are saying. What makes me laugh though, is you're discrediting this forum as a poor source of opinion then in literally the next sentence you use Facebook and Twitter as a source for your side of the argument! Howay man we all know that the majority of people that use social media are morons, the exactly reason why i got rid of them both about a year ago. I'd rather go off this forum where at least most posters can actually string a sentence together. I've also worked in advertising/marketing and it's been proven time and time again that the name of a brand/business has a significant effect on how it performs, especially when that brand is relying on donations from the public. You're right, some people won't be arsed about the name, but Gallogate Flags stand a much better chance of growing if they have a name that doesn't sound daft. I'm not expecting you to agree with me all of a sudden but that's my opinion based on what i know I mentioned Twitter and Facebook in response to him suggesting growing the brand on social media. Fair play. I guess it boils down to what a person's opinion on what they'd like Gallowgate Flags to become. If people are happy with it the way it is with the potential for it to fizzle out over time then the name definitely isn't important. But if people want it to grow into an organisation that is talked about up and down the country and possibly even around Europe then having it marketed in the right way would be massive in creating interest, and more importantly, donations. Personally i'd like to see it become massive, i think it would give the club some of it's identity back after years of shit under the fat man.

  7. I agree with HTT. If people like the flags and want the thing to grow long term, it needs to be branded properly. Having a name that a fair percentage of fans think is shit is definitely going to damage what they're trying to do.
  8. Was mint in Championship Manager Italia Class Managed the national team from 2010-2013. Yeah i just read his Wiki after i posted. He had a pretty good scoring record over his career aswell.
  9. I know nothing about Panamanian football except there used to be a fairly decent Calgliari striker called Julio Dely Valdes around 1993ish. I always thought he'd be a good signing for us (I was about 10 at the time and fancied myself as a bit of a football scout) (Totally pointless post i know but probably the only time i'll ever get the chance to share that fascinating story.)
  10. I definitely think our poor record down there is irrelevant under Rafa. You could imagine mongs like Pardew and McLaren actually using it in their team talk before the game, whereas Rafa will have the lads focused on his gameplan. I fancy us to win this one.
  11. No way will we sell Mitrovic in January. He'll be playing in the World Cup next summer and the Fat Man will be hoping he has a good tournament and doubles his value before any potential transfer.
  12. Just watched Sky Sports News report on the Wales/Ireland game. Ireland are only in the play offs aren't they? The players were celebrating like they won the World Cup
  13. As soon as i started reading your post i was going to mention his distribution being abysmal. I don't think he's the type of keeper Rafa would be after at all. I agree on your point about going after that type of player though, that would be class!
  14. ? Seems very childish to me. Got a feeling the group will be better and stronger without characters like them anyway. I'm a huge fan of the flags, hopefully they continue their great work.
  15. So that Michael Martin is one of the ones who's fucked off and insisted on taking the name with him?
  16. Found this interview with her from a few years ago. Gives some interesting insight https://business-reporter.co.uk/2014/12/08/the-big-interview-amanda-staveley/
  17. Good one. Who was it who swore in one of those interviews a couple of years ago? Possibly an Arsenal player. The interviewer wasn't impressed and i remember thinking he shouldn't have kept him there answering s**** questions for so long then. I remember Micah Richards doing that ages ago. He's possibly been superseded now, like It was actually Balotelli i was thinking of, him and Micah Richards both swear in the same interview about 1:50 into this video https://youtu.be/W4ifAbFYXKA
  18. Good one. Who was it who swore in one of those interviews a couple of years ago? Possibly an Arsenal player. The interviewer wasn't impressed and i remember thinking he shouldn't have kept him there answering shite questions for so long then.
  19. When someone scores with a nicely placed shot or a thunderbastard from 30 yards but the keeper has managed to get the very ends of his finger tips to it before it goes in. Then some 2nd rate fuckwit commentator like Tony Gayle or Brian Marwood comes to the conclusion that, "he got a hand to it so he should've saved it" - Watch it again instead of just copying other commentators you fucking clown. It was quality shot and the keeper actually did well to get anything on it, if anything he was just a bit unlucky.
  20. Sunderland 0-0 Tottenham Sunderland 2-2 West Ham Swansea 3-0 Sunderland Sunderland 1-3 Stoke City ? Clearly they have a solid argument going there
  21. All those mongs who said, "they haven't played any decent teams yet" aswell man I'd be interested to see how many points the mighty Sunderland managed to pick up from the same or similar fixtures last season.
  22. Wow! Put me off my breakfast that! Barely a toothbrush between them the scruffy cunts..
  23. What's this in relation to? I barely pay attention to any media anymore. It's what the media have now started calling Coutinho, Mane, Firmino and Salah. Not sure if the media or Liverpool fans started it but it's canny irritating already.
