Help an American, what are “bright red baseball boots“? Why would a footballer be wearing baseball cleats? Or why would tennis shoes be called “baseball boots”? Or something else? I assumed he meant something like Converse boots, or something similar.

The best ever! Pure legend ?

I think the main thing Dyer had going for him was that he had a very good understanding with Solano. He could pop a short pass into Nobby, make a run in behind or into some space and Nobby had the ability to find him. This also helped Solano get into some good crossing/shooting positions if Dyer gave him the ball back. They were excellent together.

That's really weird! I think it's a conspiricy to make him force a move to Real Madrid.
-
Refused to play on the right, but was happy enough to play on the left for England at St James Park just a few days later.

Love that! Good to hear him putting that prick Jordan straight aswell ?

Newcastle United transfer rumours in the press

How has Fekir played since he came back from his injury last season? ACL or something wasn't it? I thought he looked brilliant before that but i haven't seen him play since. -
I mean, he's a very promising player but come the f*** on. What a load of shite. Real and Barca don't just sign players after they've had 1 decent season. If they do eventually come in for Merino it'll be because he's had 2-3 outstanding seasons with us in the Premier League and forced his way into the Spanish national side. I don't think anyone would be too unhappy with that situation.

This. f***ing Townsend man Can't believe people would have the rodent back! We rescued his career when no one was interested and he fucked off to play for Pardew over Rafa when we needed him. Couldn't give a f*** about what division he thought he deserved to play in or his "England career", that c*** owed us a bit of loyalty yet he signed for the first s**** club that had a sniff of him. Him and Palace are made for each other ?

go on.. https://www.holmesdale.net/page.php?id=105&fid=1 They come across as a typical set of fans of a s*** club who have hung around the top league doing basically f*** all for a few years so they can't understand losing to a newly promoted team, doesn't compute. "But this time last year, they were a championship team and we're a PL team, how did we lose!!??". Bit like Stoke and others. They feel like they're an established part of the top division and they just disgracefully lost to those deluded yo-yo jawdies. A few years in the league below will do the daft c***s some good. Spot on. We shouldn't be surprised though, these are the cunts who were too ignorant to listen to our warnings about Pardew and then tried to take the piss when they had their predicted decent honeymoon period under him. They called us deluded and fickle for wanting him out after 4 years, yet they wanted rid of him after less than 2. Morons, i'll be glad to see the back of them ?

Fucking mongs! ?
-
? This is 3rd or 4th time i've seen him now and i've been impressed every time.

Class article! ? I always found him irritating on MOTD2 but he's gained a lot of respect from me there. It's refreshing when a journalist actually does some research on fans' views instead of just pushing the ignorant, stereotype agenda.

Newcastle United vs Crystal Palace - 21/10/17 @ 15:00 - Pre match thread
Away Day Gadgie replied to Decky's topic in Football
This will be a tricky one. The last thing Rafa will want is to concede an early goal on the counter attack so i wouldn't be surprised to see a cautious start from both sides. I'd like to see Clark come back in today. Lejuene did well last week but his lapse cost us 2 points and Clark is currently our most reliable defender so it's a no brainer for me. It won't do Lejuene any harm to realise that you can't afford to make rash decisions in this league either. I'm not too sure on the LB situation as i thought Manquillo did quite well at times last week, he was positive bringing the ball out of defence and made a couple of vital headed clearances in the 1st half. I didn't blame him for the 1st goal either, it was down to Elliott and a lack of support IMO . That said, if he's up against Zaha today i could see him needing counselling afterwards so maybe Mbemba would be the better option? He was good there before he got injured. I'd definitely play Shelvey and Merino in CM, i'm expecting Palace to sit and frustrate so we need our ball players in there to find the gaps. Don't think i'd make changes anywhere else apart from Mitrovic coming off the bench at some point. He's served his punishment now and with Gayle f***ed we need to start utilising him. -
MLF territory if you listen to RTG mate!
-
Kieron Dyer talking as if he has some sort of standing at NUFC? To me he'll always be the little rat who refused to play on the right wing for Bobby Robson. Absolutely unforgiveable, fuck him!
-
She's clearly thick as whale spunk if she's looking to buy us instead of Sunderland. Clearly she doesn't read RTG, experts on all things football and finance them lot!
-
Wijnaldum's reaction where he said 'wow' and smiling like an excited school kid was brilliant when he saw it for the first time. Yeah i remember that ?
-
SCORE A GOAL YOU f***ing c*** Bit harsh, she only looks 1 or 2.

St James might be lopsided but it's by far the superior stadium. You regularly hear pundits, opposition managers and players commenting on it. It also has character and history. The only thing that gives their dump any character is the pink seats and the pasty wrappers swirling round the pitch, if it wasn't for them you could easily mistake it for Southampton or Stoke's stadium.
-
It's proabably worth mentioning that he never played in front of a decent defence with us. The only time i remember us looking consistantly solid at the back was when we had Woodgate. Playing behind a good defence would've masked the weaker points of his game.
-
How class would that be man!? The amount of macktracking on there would be an absolute joy to read. Some of them still wouldn't be able to accept reality though because that would me admitting "the mags were right".

Given was an outstanding shot stopper. He would make saves that not many (if any) other keepers could make, his reactions and agility really were that good. Not just that, but he made saves at vital times in matches. I remember one season (01-02 i think) where he seemed save us in the dying moments of almost every game we narrowly won. His distribution was poor for years but he eventually sorted it out towards the end of his time with us, it was annoying watching him shank it for years then leave as soon as he rectified it. He didn't command his area very well but in my opinion his shot stopping made up for that.
