This is the worst thing about the way we do business, there is very little importance put on the needs of the team/manager. If there is a player we can pick up for below market value for whatever reason, then we're all over it. Any player that commands the going rate either gets snapped up by someone else or we p*ss the selling club off to the point where they won't do business with us and we end up with a hole in the squad. After watching the game back i thought he was absolutely brilliant and was a huge factor in the win. He made 2 goals and also worked his bollocks off. There was a moment in the 1st half (at 0-0 i think) when West Ham put a dangerous cross in from the right and he sprinted about 15-20 yards to attack the ball before anyone else could - top quality awareness and attitude, you wouldn't lose many games in you had 11 players like that. He should be captain, not just cos of yesterday but cos of the countless times he dragged us through games last season.
