Having ADHD might well be helpful for a goal keeper. Quick thinking, being adaptable, responding quickly to changes, being very aware of your environment and noticing everything that goes on around are all handy. planning, long term thinking, high levels of executive functioning and being well organised are not essential for being a goal keeper. ‘Impulsivity’ otherwise known as acting without thinking is a useful trait in lots of circumstances. I say this as someone who’s had ADHD for 57 years and who’s worked in child mental health services for 24, so this is not ‘bloke down the pub’ wisdom. I think Pickford probably has it. He struggles mostly when he’s got a bit of time to think but he’s a brilliant shot stopper. On balance his strengths far outweigh is weaknesses.

Nobody is untouchable and being savvy with sales is just as important as buying. Like selling players when they are still going to fetch a good price rather than wait until it drops (Wilson as an example) as long as there is a coherent plan about replacing them.
