He didn't spend all game holding the CBs hands asking for a 1 yard pass. Howe must have drilled that out of him.

Aye, Dummett is a solid back-up option now. And you have to consider that he was just coming back (again) from injury so isn't close to being fully match sharp.

The belief is back. Hardest game we've faced in a few though, these are really really good. -
That is magic.

Didn't know ASM had a part time job running the Fun88 social media accounts.

Willock had a great first half? Best he's had in months. I reckon we see the same midfield 3 again against West Ham. They kinda deserve it and I get the argument for allowing Bruno to get up to speed.

Absolutely bang on. He was so quick to shift the ball with his passing and wasn't afraid to play to a forward to someone who had a close opponent. Such a refreshing change from us either having 2 donkeys who are slow and negative in possession or just having Schar who can play it a bit. Imagine next season when we get 2 CBs who can pass the ball Gonna be like watching a different sport. You're spot on about his heading as well. Wasn't just going in to win the ball - he directed everything. Probably helps when you're a giant. -
Yeah, it is like part from watching him to try to get into decent pressing positions and part thinking what it can be like to come into a tight game when the opposition team are playing at a really high tempo. You hear about players needing to get into the rhythm of a game and sometimes that can be easy, like say against Everton when we had a comfy lead and their players were really stodgy, then say today when Villa were hitting quick passes and still charging on. It is not a criticism of him in any way. Just that in the context of today's game, he was a little behind the pace of the play. There was a bit where he went pressing high up the pitch, but was like 5 yards away from any meaningful position on each press. Nothing against him at all, just that can happen when you have sat on your arse for 90 minutes and then been told to get on and you really want to make an impact, but end up wasting your energy. It was a really throw away minor thing that is getting blown out of proportion. If you carry on reading my post, you see that I point out that he nailed every single in possession play he had. Was just off the ball, he wasn't quite on it given the difficult circumstances.

Wood and Joelinton are gonna need to tag team Rice.
-
Yes, exactly. He was rock solid in fact. Didn't put a foot wrong.
-
I have no said that btw Just that he came onto a game looking a little undercooked compared to the last game when he was flying about.
-
Everything he did was solid, but physically he looked a little slow.

Remember, too foreign for Bruce. What a class act this man is.

Actually mad that it probably took Lascelles coming down with a cold to get Burn into the starting 11. He's different gravy. Like, easy to say that we wouldn't have been anywhere near as solid with Lacelles starting today. -

He's turned it completely round. Wonder if anyone in the media is gonna start calling out the notable improvement in every department compared to dross served up by the fat wanker who came before. -
DESTROYER. My lawd, what a player.

Gotta say, he looked like he wasn't quite on the pace for this one. Maybe came on slightly undercooked, which is understandable. Must be shite being the big man stuck on the bench for 90 minutes. But even still, he was faultless and every contribution was rock fucking solid. Ball win and instant pass to ASM and the committed header to win the freekick. Cannot wait to see him start a game.
