  1. I'm not sure quoting 3 posts, mentioning Spuds, posted 3 hours apart, by 3 different posters, in a thread entitled "Other clubs transfers" is either evidence of "living rent free" nor the win you think it is. Ps Spurs ARE wank. ?
  2. I got a 7 day ban for calling 2 posters "dumb cunts" Funnily enough that was over Targett and the suggestion 'Howe shouldn't have bought him because he clearly thinks he's shit' type drivel. Lost count of the number of times I've deleted "dumb cunt" from my posts lately ???? I'm a better person for it tho ??
  3. Some right melons on here like.
  4. FWIW I think the treatment dished out to Jonas epitomises the club then but... “It felt like we were drifting, inch by inch, week by week, from being a club that wanted to win and succeed in the Premier League to becoming a club that just wanted to survive in the Premier League. There’s a world of difference between those two approaches, those two ideas, and I only had one career and one chance. I started to think that I would have to move on. “Eventually the chance to join (Manchester) City came up. They were everything Newcastle were not at the time – ambitious, clear about their plans, willing to spend and attract big players and they wanted success. “What footballer doesn’t want that in his life? “Eventually, me and Michael Kennedy had a meeting with Mike Ashley about what the future held. It was at the manager’s office at the training ground and Llambias was there as well. I was willing to listen to what they had to say but ultimately I left it all up to Michael. This is what usually happens with contract and transfer issues, the player leaves it in the hands of someone they trust. I went out of the room soon after the meeting had begun and returned to the car. Michael was back out, sat in the passenger seat, soon after. “We’re not staying,” he said. “That was not a serious offer in any way, shape or form.” Mike Ashley had told Michael the deal being proposed but it was considerably lower than what we were offering new players at the time, who were coming in on huge long-term contracts that would secure them for life. “My deal did not do that and just confirmed what I already suspected – they weren’t going to pull out the stops to keep me at the club. I was prepared to stay for the rest of my career but, ultimately, I was in my prime, a potential Premier League winning team wanted to sign me and Newcastle did not give any impression they wanted to chase silverware. The sad thing was I’d placed serious, long-term roots down in Newcastle, my children were in school there and I would easily and happily have stayed forever. “How much did they really want to keep me though? How much did they want to be challenging? Did the boardroom care about keeping their most loyal players? In a word, no. “In the end, with me unhappy at what was going on and the lack of ambition shown by the club, a gun was put to my head. They said they would not allow me to leave unless I signed a transfer request. By making me hand in a formal written request, it meant they could waive 10 per cent of the fee I otherwise would’ve picked up after moving. With the fee being around £6-8m, it effectively meant I was waiving £600,000 to go. “It says everything that they were more keen on saving themselves £600,000 than they were keeping hold of a player who had given his absolute all for the club for over a decade. I’d literally spilt blood for Newcastle, pushed myself hard every day, even when times were so tough and quality players were leaving by the second. “The least the club could’ve done, in my opinion, is prove I was wanted. Instead, they were more interested in the transfer fee than they were me – a proven Premier League player, a dedicated team-man and a good professional. If they were letting me go, and they were more than happy to let the likes of Milner go as well, what does that tell you? It tells me that the economics of the club were a bigger priority than success on the pitch. That saddened me a lot then and it saddens me a lot now.”
  5. Was hoping we'd be 5-0 up then England's centre back runs all the way from our box, through the entire Haiti team to bag another. Just for the headline... Carter the unstoppable six machine
  6. "that Haiti player went down too easily" "Jamaica?" "No she fell of her own accord"
  7. Done both my ACLs playing football (lower alphabet) & had them repaired by the wonderful Mr Deehan. Great surgeon, horrendous bedside manner. Calls a cunt a cunt. Luckily for me both surgeries have been a great success ? and, although, I haven't played football I can launch my morbidly obese carcass down the snowy slopes of Bansko and not give a fuck. Only side effect is, much like Professor Deehan himself, I now call a cunt a cunt. Got a 7 day ban on here for it, as it goes.
  8. Aye, tbf, should've said "Apols it's shit" ???
  9. Apols if SEB https://www.sportbible.com/football/football-news/newcastle-united/newcastle-united-rangers-sandro-tonali-307610-20230718
  10. Were not short in midfield at all. Even less so in Livramento signs AND Howe thinks he can do RWF of (a front 3) We've 11 for 5, many who can play various roles within that 5 As for losing Bruno with a long term (God forbid) there isn't one team in this league would "brush aside" losing a talisman. Not one. Man City could override losing KDB but they're out of our stratosphere.
  11. I know I've posted a couple of less than positive comments about Maxi but that's not to say I didn't enjoy his "flair" For me, apart from the odd goal which any wide forward should be capable of, the moment that epitomises him was v Leicester (iirc) Picked the ball up, just in their half, and drove forward. Miggy was ahead of him and went across into the same channel. Maxi passed to an empty space. Clear example of his superb progression with ball, his teammate not having a clue wtf he was going to do with it and, ultimately, fucked up end product. Oh, and straight after, tho his frustrations were understandable, he had a hissy fit as if he was surrounded by mere mortals.
  12. Love a bit of the old blarney do the yanks.
  13. "Factually" in 90 minutes Maxi spent more time on his arse than his feet. Barnes has been brought in to replicate the 1-2, pass and move of the right hand side AND score double figures. He will.
  14. Just been watching Early Doors again. Another absolute gem of a comedy written by, and featuring aforementioned "Dave"
  15. I don't see why, other than historical probability, that Brighton can't keep it up. Granted if loads of clubs are trying to game the conveyor belt of cheap talent it'll be harder but they're a very well run club. See also Brentford. It's a wierd pre-season for me. I'm absolutely excited for it but I'm realistic about us and, for that matter, the rest of the league. It's universally acknowledged we've jumped the gun. Ahead of ourselves to a great degree and the players that did that, with some additions, need to do it again. If that's the same level as last season then great but if loads of other teams do better than last year then it'll be tough. Man City, Arsenal and Man U will be better. Liverpool, Spurs and Chelsea have to be. Villa will be. Brentford and Brighton will carry on winning games and being hard to beat. God knows at least 2 others will rise out of the pack. However, as we saw last year, it doesn't always graft. Signings don't always graft and managers lose the plot.
  16. Getting rinsed tf ????
  17. You're wondering where big Joe will play then list him with the other TEN players for 5 spots. He'll play there then. Seeing as you're counting the two front wide players in a 433 in your 5 spots you need to add Isak to the list. So that's 11. 12 if we get Tino and Eddie fancies pushing him up there. Anderson is a CM by desire. We'll see how he develops but, again, Eddie rates him and Murphy's just had his best spell. We don't need anymore wingers.
  18. Maxi wasn't going to start for us, period. The elevation of his productivity is insane. Bloke spent more time on his arse than anything else. Canny dribbler but, then again, so am I on a night out. Get over yourselves ffs ?????
  19. I could've narrowed it down to just black cats but, as any fool knows, they shit everywhere. Pavements, fountains, football stadiums....
