So what's the ideal then? Liverpool miss out on champions league, spurs go down and man city win the league? Is that the best of this terrible season? It's a tall ask.

Barnes is a better finisher, just nowhere near as quick or capable of beating a man. We'll miss Gordon's pace and pressing for sure, but I think we can find someone to replace his output. Certainly his Premier league output anyway. A good player, but not the end of the world if he goes and a capable replacement is found.

All depends on the spurs match, not on us unfortunately.

If we didn't have to play him through the middle, I'd have him wide right over Elanga and Murphy. Brave I know, but nobody else is willing to speak these hard truths (although I do still love Murphy, best crosser of the ball at the club on his day)

Think people are right to focus on his physical attributes, but I do feel his skill is overlooked. He got out of a bad situation with a bit of trickery, and defenders are clearly worried about what he can or may do when he's barreling down on them. Plus, he's an absolute mad head, so all the flair hasn't been coached out of him yet . He's still willing to do the unpredictable.

Well I think we can all agree that the team selection was inspired work.
