The team that deserved to win was the one with the killer instinct or cutting edge. And we obviously were not that team. Just watch what Villa did vs Chelsea.
-
Look forward to watching some quality football (for a change, lol)

Don't think this loss is down to Howe or his tactics. Our general play tonight was great. We lack that cutting edge, which is a recurring issue, especially without Isak. Our recent displays after the derby show that we are moving in the right direction. Hopefully, with some reinforcements next month and injured players returning, we will soon start a good run of form.

I think we played quite well overall. Not far from our best playing our front-footed 433. We just lack that cutting edge. Ramsey and Miley had great chances to score. And I do agree Pope would quite likely save that volley by Dorgu. -

Barnes should have crossed to Wissa -

I like to see: Ramsdale Miley Thiaw Schar Hall Bruno Tonali Ramsey Barnes Wissa Gordon -
Lol if we are not good enough to beat them at home then probably will actually be good to exit early and focus on other fronts
-
I think should start both Barnes and Gordon vs Leverkusen and Sunderland. Probably Barnes on the right. Sub Barnes off when he gets tired. Gordon had his rest recently and he should be able to play 90 minutes for both games if needed.

Aaron Ramsdale: return to Southampton confirmed

Tend to agree. It seems Thiaw had a lapse in concentration. But Ramsdale's positioning seems poor and also should have punched the ball much further out if he and Burn communicated a bit better -
Just start both Gordon and Barnes, perhaps Barnes on the right. Get Wissa on if either of them plays terribly

Lots of heart and hustle, but not enough cutting edge. On the bright side, Bruno and Gordon looked great when they came on. Lewis Hall was brilliant in the first half. -
Most likely injury, we don't take him off at halftime when he is good to play

To be honest, I don’t think we deserved 3 points. We had great energy in the 1st half but against quality teams we couldn’t control the game and pass the ball around. Spurs pile pressure on us and we kind of hanging on by a thread and then crumbled towards the end. -

lots of heart and hustle, but little finesse. His touch or ball control is simply not good enough -

All signs point to Bruno being rested for this game. Joelinton rested vs Marseille, and Tonali rested vs Everton. Bruno's turn tonight. -
Everton's defence was so bad on that goal. Michael Keane was leisurely jogging back lol

It won't be easy for us to attract good fullbacks to come and often sit on the bench. Realistically the best we could do is to get somebody like James Garner who can cover multiple positions
