Just had a skim through their match thread, it kind of sums up the club as a whole, rollercoaster of opinions from worst club in the world to best club in the world to worst club in the world. Page 144 is roughly where they leak the last 2 goals, from there on is a joy.

£6 last season but you had to smuggle your own cheese slice in.

BIpolar the way they have gone in a few weeks from the worst team and manager in history to yet again regaining their rightful place as the Barcelona of the north east.

There are a couple of Irish channels, Premier sport who often have games on, or the Now channels from the far east are good. Don't know how much discussion is permitted in here, I have IPTV installed on my TV.

RTG are not representative of Sunderland fans in general, there are plenty of decent posters on there but they are drowned out by a significant core of around 30 posters who appear to have some kind of mental disorder. Lord knows what goes in in their online shame dungeon ( parsnip) but the main football bit has been flooded for weeks ( for a match they were claiming didn't matter as NUFC ceased to exist after the takeover) with threads analysing every possible facet of the game. There was on one there the other day about how they were going to handle work on Monday FFS. No one even points out this is not normal behaviour. FWIW I don't hate Sunderland or their football club, I was there new year's day on a freebie and pleased to see them win. I went without a couple of pints new years eve and drove down, something many of their ultra loyal fans couldn't manage as there were loads of empty seats. People started leaving at 80 mins, 2 nil up,not rushing for the buses or metro since there wasn't any, 85 minutes and it was half empty. I felt a bit for the players coming to celebrate at the end since there were so few left to celebrate with. It was noisy for the first 15 minutes then near silence except for a 10 minute spell in the second half where they were chanting about a team they weren't playing. P.N.E. fans kept going the whole game. Not sure how to fix the malaise about Sunderland, both club and city, it is what it is.
  7. No toilet! Fucking hell, it's like straight back to the hooligan age of the 1970s. Not. Shows how much supporting the game has changed.
  8. 6000 of us at the weekend at their place and most of the bother seems to be with their own fans fighting each other. Could this be the future of fixtures known for violence? Not just us, all the big derbys where violence often occurs. I have family in the police and believe it or not most of them don't want to go to work and be in the middle of 2 crowds trying/pretending to assault each other who then slag the police off from behind their screens when they get home. No ticket until you get in the bus, stewards all over, a little freebie from the club, no one gets hurt. Yes it's a bit sanitised but I suspect many weren't around for the unsanitised 1970\80s.
  9. Especially for those watching at home on Wearside with all those black and white tellys. Record signing at one point IIRC.

I started reading that thread as a result of that link, bonkers, Nexus funnel travellers into Newcastle as sales of KitKats provide jobs on Tyneside.. They then feed off each other, each weird fantasy about how unfair the world is to them becomes fact and fodder for the next even weirder fantasy about how unfair the world is to them. The single thread on ticket allocation for the FA cup match is now at nearly 300 pages and 6000 posts. Not bad for a game against a team many of them claim ceased to exist after the takeover. At least is seems to keep them busy and gives them less time to spend counting mag shirts on Wearside.
  12. 2 years ago we were down and out, now PSG are scaping a draw in the 98th minute at home to us. Our club man. Proud to be a Geordie.
  13. Just read this on the BBC, it was his birthday party and pre arranged, what's he meant to do, cancel it after what has been, in reality, a bad day at work? Think it's just ten hag wanting to be seen making the right noises.

I hate the drums, it's a kind of enforced jolity . Bring back vuvuzelas say I.
  15. Plastic as fuck. Easy fan base to loathe, although they have always travelled in numbers TBF. https://www.redcafe.net/threads/do-you-still-watch-when-were-3-0-down.446599/
  16. Its a joy, so many plastics who think they have supported their team through thick and thin. They don't even know thin.

Hilarious yet desperate riding on the coat tails, epic lack of self awareness. One of them saw a German registered bus in an SR post code area, I can sense a new bond forming.
  18. Regarding these " Ultras" and their march to the game. My understanding is Ultras consider themselves hardcore with a bit of an organised hoolie element, is that correct? If they are going to have organised marches, the last place I would do it is up the Bigg market, it's normally kicking off outside the Beehive at the best of times, and it's handy for the radgie bars round the Grainger market. Put them on St. James Boulevard , if you don't know the area it would sound like it's appropriate, wide open space so easier to police, straight to the ground, it's also the middle of nowhere for Newcastle fans who want to have a pop at them, no one is going to be arsed. I think these organised marches are bollocks, attention seeking whilst hiding in the mob. Last thing I would do and I am an attention whore.

Someone on the milk and honey with a bit of self awareness yet most have missed it and one even quotes it as gospel.

It's them saying it's hell, not me. I lived in the Battlefield until quite recently and spent loads of time on shields road, I never thought of it as hell, or even that rough.

The " Milk and Honey" thread descended into how their beaches are better than Newcastle's beach's, despite us not having a beach due to being an inland city, then criticising us for claiming North Tyneside's beaches, despite it being them who said it in the first place. It's like Kendal telling us they have better mountains than us. Also, Newcastle only consists of heaven ( Jesmond, Gosforth) and hell (Byker, West end). They seem unaware of the large swathe of decent normal housing, off the top of my head, Walkergate,Heaton,High Heaton, Benton, Dinnington, Hazlerigg, Kingston Park, Great Park, Westerhope, Chapel Park, Chapel House, Walbottle, Leamington,Dumpling Hall, there wil be a ton more. Is Forest Hall Newcastle or North Tyneside? Walker is a huge estate, I used to live there, and there are more decent parts than bad. To be fair, the thread starter is getting a bit of stick from the few level headed posters, I hope they don't parsnip ithe thread as I am enjoying reading it.

Byker Asda was my go to Asda when I lived in the city centre and wanted a big shop, I never thought it was rough, I must be rough as fuck. If he thinks the Asda is rough, he should try the Morrisons, makes Byker Asda look like Harvey Nicks. Pub across the road has a sign in the window, " No shop lifted goods to be sold in this pub".

Imagine being proud of where you are from? The whole thread drips with how we should hate our city, the way they loathe themselves. Imagine staying to the end to applaud your team after a victory, why not create a toxic atmosphere that seeps onto the pitch and fuck off just after half time to beat the traffic, like they do? Then describe Newcastle as weird. Great thread that will run and run. Probably to their online shame dungeon soon.
  24. He was the world's most famous footballer at a time when there were far fewer famous people, never mind footballers. I am vaguely related to him, or I was at one point, my first mother in law was a cousin of the Millburn's. RIP.
