  1. I'd love Ekitike but I'm pretty certain this has been put out by the club to force Liverpool's hand.
  2. Yeh Joelinton gets left out by virtue of the other 2 being technically better but if its a combination of any 2 of them then I'd not bat an eyelid. They're all equally good in different way but the technical quality of the other 2 edge it for me by the very smallest of margins.
  3. Pope Trippier Burn Schar Joelinton Osula Miley Barnes Murphy If we build a first team like that, then our windows thereafter become far less expensive as we're no longer in the building phase, but adding individual excellence to improve and freshen up your overall squad.
  4. You often hear players talking about the pride they have playing for the club but you don't often see it in the players - he couldnt be making it more obvious. I'm genuinely excited to see what he can do. He seems to have exactly the right mentality to succeed and a sky-high ceiling.
  5. Crikey! Out the blue this one
  6. We're trying to lower the age of our squad and have exclusively signed young players with the potential to grown or experienced senior players at lower costs. We are not signing Watkins or Wissa.
  7. West Ham and Everton too. I dont think there are too many teams that do play with a low block nowadays because of the amount of quality spread across the league but identifying individual teams as ones we struggle against is a bit of a false economy when in reality its x number of points lost. Those lost point become increasingly more significant next year, but on top of that, I imagine more teams might adopt a more defensive approach pending the result of this window and we'll be coming up against faor more organised teams in Europe.
  8. Where is the yellow ticker
  9. It's not, no. Is your's Peggy?
  10. I thought the same. Just playing devil's advocate in a pretty reasonable way. Still a prick though.
  11. I don't care either way, I love what this thread stands for.
  12. And some loved him. But the bottom line is there's a clear difference from when he took over to where and what he left them.
  13. Look up what he did at Monaco
  14. Ok so admittedly im not well versed on job titles and their actual remit, but hes been at Southampton where they became a hot bed of talent under Pochettino, then he moved to Spurs where they made significant inroads into establishing themselves in the top 4, with the signings of the likes of Son, Alli, Alderwied as examples, then moved onto RB which let's be honest isnt a role you get when you dont know what youre doing - his role there included the growth of that clubs multiple club model and saw the growth of Salzburg. He then moved onto Moncao and absolutely turned that clubs fortunes around and also turned them into a hotbed of talent. His pedigree can't be questioned, no matter how his time turned out here but his failings here seem to centre around not having a manager that is fully aligned with his philosophy- I dont think thats a failing on either person part, just a fundamental difference that doesn't really need exploring. It was what it was.
  15. Not here, no - that we know of - but over the entirety of his career it's safe to say he is.
  16. He's undoubtedly one of the best Sporting Directors in the world.
  17. We defend as a team and those forwards are all hard working.
  18. Isak Gordon Kudus Elanga I cannot stress how much I want this front 4.
  19. As much as I love Barnes, I'd sell him given the option and use the money to buy Kudus. He'd give us so much tactical flexibility.
  20. Not sure how you can read that and still think 'yeh he's not good enough.'
  21. Maybe. I think we're willing to pay money if we're convinced theyre worth it, like Isak so I still think there's a massive budget there is theyre willing to up it 10m.
  22. Upping our bid by a while £10m tells a far bigger story.
  23. Pace gets you into positions player without pace can't. There's this preconceived idea of only way to breakdown low block defences is via a possession based style footballer with vision and clever passing, which i agree is a method, but you can also get there via quicker transistions in the turnover stage but also by virtue and having players with extra pace who can make run and receive balls in tighter spaces. Its their pace that gets them there and causes disruption is shape.
  24. Thats what Pedro was for. There more to it too, but youre clearly dug in against Elanga so I cba
