Are we officially starting the cycle of Southgate is shit/boring/clueless now then?
Can we not just save the gnashing of teeth and frustration and accept that he’s not an amazing manager, but he’s the best one we’ve had for a while. He may not win us a World Cup, but we have no right to do that, and newsflash, there are other pretty good teams out there too.
No mate, we're discussing our opinions on where things could potentially improve. That's what football forums are for. Discussion.

We are sleep walking into a disaster in Qatar because of Gareths "never let me down", policy. Given the club form of Shaw, Maguire, Pickford at times, you can't expect them to continue to ride their luck in tournaments.
Also, I get Mount is good but I don't understand what he offers above others. Surely given the fact you have 3 Man City attacking players, who are tuned into one another, you simply have to play them alongside Saka?
Front six of:
Henderson
Bellingham
Foden
Saka Sterling/Grealish
Kane
Plays Mount ineffectually and totally stifles everything Rice is good at playing him in a strict holding two when he has everyone available.
I think Henderson will be back up come the summer (or winter as it is) too.

Decent interview with Tomori here. Always good to see English players not just doing well abroad, but actually also taking the opportunity to integrate.
Just a shame that moving abroad still seems to make it harder for you with England.

Does nobody else think we are being sold short by our Regional BBC Radio Station.
Newcastle fans can listen to every game on the premium FM network.
We get FM when nufc and nufc u23s are not playing.
We are told there are ways to listen to the SAFC games by DAB and TV 719.
If this is such a good alternative why don't nufc fans have to do this? And another reply
Not just radio, but our friends at Look North also. On a Monday they show interviews with Howe and Wilder and then we are afforded exactly the same air time as Hartlepool, Harrogate etc, with all due respect we are the joint biggest club in the region but we're nothing but a lower league afterthought. You can bet your bottom dollar if it had been the mags in our position they wouldn't be getting treat like second class citizens.
They are still raging about this a few days later

The Defoe thing is kinda odd, and I'd be furious if I was a fan. They sold players to bring him in? There's a great story waiting to be told somewhere down the road about who fucked this one up.
Sold players? They sacked their manager who had them two points from top spot to bring him in.
-
I still don't have a clue what this is and why it has any value.

I see RTG have been bullying Kendall Rowan today.
It was Holly Blades yesterday.
Makes a change from a section of our fan base doing it like.

Juhmaiyehn Defoweh retiring with immediate effect apparently
If you believe what you read on RTG part of the reason they sacked their manager was because he didn't want Defoe.

Pre-VAR that’d been given as a penalty all day long. Refs don’t make decisions these days - relying on a technology to prove them wrong when the onus is to not do so.
Farcical.
He'd have given the penalty to Salah (for example) and it wouldn't have been overturned.
-
Someone said a few weeks ago that that the officials don't give decisions against the big teams so the var won't overturn them. Absolutely concrete proof tonight.
-
Would think that's the play offs out of reach for them.
Reminder that they were in them when he was appointed and their chairman said one of the main reasons they appointed him was he would have an immediate impact. And he was right.

Talented player. Heart of a pea.
Amazing how the passage of time allows people to forget.

Joelinton and Willock were clearly not fully fit.
I think we’ve just run out of steam a bit after a run of games in quick succession. The break will do us good.
The amount of people who don't want to acknowledge this is staggering.

Genuinely think that 1 win will be enough to give us enough of a break and i'm going to put tonight down to having played 3 away games in 7 days.
Disappointing, like. The players are out on their feet after a fantastic effort over two months. Won't stop some who have been dying to give them a kicking from doing so now though.
-
We've been running on fumes the last few games and it's showing massively in this second half. Been an incredible effort the last two months which shouldn't be forgotten.
-
Seems to have really found his feet. Credit to those at the club who have found him a loan deal which fits so well with how he plays.

I see Shearer's theoretical modern day value in The Athletic has upset quite a few of them.
