  1. This is the future US N-O posters want
  2. Boehly and Chelsea don't seem to be concerned with trivial things like this. If they're not where they need to be, they'll want the wages off the books and as much of the transfer fee recouped as possible, but I can't see them quibling if someone came in with an £80m fee or lower. And as you say, the Saudis very well might.
  3. That's probably total nonsense like, but if it is true something tells me he won't have much problem with leaving and Chelsea will have the opposite problem with most of the players they've signed.
  4. It's always the ones who you'd least suspect
  5. It's different but not too dissimilar to all of the Russians buying up properties and buying influence in the US and UK pre-Ukraine imo. I imagine part of the idea is that when the shit hits the fan (the oil runs out for example) and there's even the slightest Western temptation to suddenly decide that, actually, the Saudi state is bad and it was always bad (like we did with Russia/Abramovich etc), by that point their tentacles will be so far reaching that it would be impossible to perform the same 180 that happened with Russia. The whole Abramovich thing was an absolute clinic in media "we've always been at war with Eurasia"-level heel-turns though, and it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if in the right conditions we saw our media largely go from 'we need to have the conversation' to 'obviously they're being sanctioned, having their assets frozen, and being deported' so quickly that it would give you whiplash.
  6. Well no, there are still plenty of laws and universal morals that apply globally and broadly across cultures and societes, not just in the west or the UK. eg murder and stealing are generally illegal everywhere, at least rhetorically. There are plenty more examples that are universal rather than (unless you want to count the 0.0000000001% who think murder is fine for example) broadly subjective.
  7. Probably not, because I imagine that's a big part of sportswashing (as adverse to that word as some people are) - that eventually the majority of fan's moral stances become murky, and so noone can say anything should improve somewhat without yet participating in society.
  8. There really is no end to the minutiae of your pedantry like
  9. What's with this trend on here recently of acting like morals are purely subjective? If there was no collective, objective morality we wouldn't have civilisations or laws, for a start.
  10. I thought the sarcasm would have landed like but the actual point I'm making is that it changes nothing. It's scratching an itch for something we already know and in specific cases already find out via explanations afterwards - that they're often incompetent, inconsistent cronyists.
  11. Never underestimate the power of material interests.
  12. The way they've flatly stated that they've made improvements to the ticketing system in the midst of everyone complaining about it is galling like. It's clearly not fit for purpose as it currently stands and my gut feeling is that we're all customers now, who'll get the PR shpeil about how great and valued we are, but when push comes to shove even our most diehard supporters are less valuable customers than random tourists willing to pay more. I'd like to think the Trust would have a say, but the last time I checked they were on board with the changes as they are.
  13. Not to ram it home or owt, but I would definitely make a point of watching Brighton in the match just as much as you watch us. We weren't bad just because we were bad, we were bad largely because they were brilliant.
  14. Hall's age isn't why I'm reluctant at all, Ferguson is up to speed with how Brighton play, Hall probably isn't yet.
  15. I can't see Hall starting in the league for a while yet. He's not up to speed and it might take a while for him and Trippier to know when to sit back in a 3 and let the other FB get forward, and when to get forward and know the other will sit back in the 3.
  16. The website is an absolute shambles like. Truly, truly awful. Not only is the FAQ for linking memberships hard to find, it's completely wrong. Having a book. and standard login. platform is terrible from a UX perspective.
  17. Can memberships be linked with seperate people or do they all have to be within one group? eg John is linked with Dave and Brian, but Dave and Brian aren't linked with each other and have their own links with other members.
  18. Really!? That sounds unlikely like. 8's not that much.
  19. "It should be this angle" Still clearly offside
  20. Please don't put the idea in my head, I can't control myself
  21. The VAR officials did everything to help Man United and they still couldn't do it. Sad.
