Head injuries are always always stopped. What absolute fucking nonsense from all of them.

Gallowgate Shots' All with Smiling Faces is the only NUFC podcast anywhere near worth watching imo.

You could argue that the last 14 years were so bad that it's warped any sense of standard criticism. I don't get it tbh, Staveley said they would make mistakes and they've made them. Nothing wrong with saying that without getting hysterical about it.
-
Arsenal under Arteta are snidey, whingey little girls like. They know exactly what works in terms of pressuring the referee or with their gamesmanship. Players who are off the pitch injured who then roll on the pitch should be automatically yellow carded.

Our best possible XI and back 4 will get annihilated by Liverpool, I wouldn't naval gaze too much over line ups and formations for this one tbh. -
Palace vs Southampton is loads of fun. Ref's letting loads go so it's class. 2-2 at the moment

Love how Leeds are still playing like someone's shouted next goal wins it
-
Well like you said, someone. With that situation being very specific and nowhere near to being everyone's, it's not a question that's relevant to everyone either.
-
Weren't Man City just like 'well we'll investigate you then' when UEFA were investigating them for FFP, and there was nothing more said? Surely that happening again is the end game in all this if that was allowed to happen?
-
They've all been active participants and lobbyists for the very laissez faire system that's going to ensure their own demise. So now they're all happlessly scrambling around trying to close the door on a juggernaut that's more powerful than all of them combined with the same type of weak reformation they themselves have spent years fighting against and weakening. I'm sure there's a bloke who wrote at length about how this always ends up happening.

You'd think that eventually offside decisions will be done with AI and be able to make the call as quick as it's done in FIFA.
-
Just goes to show how much more of an influence anecdotal stories like that about 20 people has in a lot of people's minds than just presenting them with the stats that overwhelmingly tell you an opposing story on a much larger scale.
-
I'm all for stats for insight and backing things up etc, but you never see stats for things like influence, leadership, personality on the pitch etc do you? The unquantifiable stuff that's much more important than we probably think. That's more a general comment than one on Lascelles btw.

I dunno about anyone else, but I believe people having the right to not be the victims of a potentially life threatening virus caught from or spread by those who aren't vaccinated, is the victimisation that should be prioritised.

FFP is still there though so even at the top end of the potential budget they definitely won't be able to Neom it until it works with Newcastle. Just imagining SJP here:
-
Not sure Neom is the best thing to mention if you know how much of a fuck up that's been.
-
If our budget is £50m and we also spend £25m on one player I'll eat my hat. It's one or the other surely, either the budget is £50m and we buy a few £10m-£15m players, or we're spending £25m on players like Trippier and spending much more.
-
Not sure if anything changed under Bruce, but opposition teams targeted crosses from our left to our back post under Rafa regardless of whether it was Yedlin or Manquillo playing there.
-
£50m isn't often quoted. I think I've read that once, £200m is much more often quoted and most estimates go with a budget of anything between £200m to £800m over a period of 3 years.
-
Not saying Trippier isn't good, but I don't know how he fits into the system I'd imagine Howe playing. He doesn't play as a fast, overlapping full back does he?
-
Money only talks when it's more than the cost of what the selling club would lose by selling to us - I'm thinking of the cost to the likes of Burnley (Tarkowski or Mee) and Southampton (JWP) here by increasing their chance of relegation while also strenthening a relegation rival - but it also extends to the clubs at the top who won't want to help a club stay up who they'll see as a threat to their bottom line in a few years. With FFP it means it's probably not in Newcastle's best interests to pay the amount that those clubs would be asking for and using up a high percetage of the budget imo - Newcastle will be looking at daft prices like £50m+ for Tarkowski vs half that for a potentially better player at a lower cost abroad. In that scenario it's a no brainer.
-
Honestly think any Premier League player is an absolute no go now considering how all of the clubs have reacted to the takeover. Most PL clubs will only feign interest in selling their players in order to waste our time and resources imo and Staveley and Co would be mugs to be strung along by it. I'd much rather go for quality abroad or from the Championship to completely avoid that situation.

Bad results always cause people to look at the creative players with more scrutiny or call for them to be dropped, regardless of how big the gap in quality is between them and the alternative. He needs to start really, there's no real alternative. -
