  1. The left doesn't want it destroyed though? It wants it to stop being destroyed as it currently is by being what it should be - truly independent. Seems a bizarre way to frame it, particularly when as you touch on, the right wants it gone and is in the process of literally doing exactly that. The left has literally no power in this whatsoever. The BBC used to be much more impartial than it currently is, and was more impartial than most when it's actually covered events, but I don't think you can say that with a straight face about it anymore. They had Rishi Sunak mocked up in a graphic as Superman ffs
  2. If you honestly think that the BBC is impartial or that it's the 'hard left' that want it to be destroyed, I'm not sure what kind of upside-down la la land you're living in tbh.
  3. Also worth remembering that there was no problem with this impartiality from the very same person, on the same platform, under the same set of cunts governing the country. I can't for the life of me imagine why.
  4. I'd be extremely surprised if it was in Lineker's contract, but not the likes of Alan Sugar and Emily Maithis's, who have regularly been aggressively politically impartial while working for the BBC. Anyone, ANYONE, left or right thinking this is fine because they don't like Lineker is a fool. You, your views, and the people you do like are next on the menu.
  5. Fiona Bruce would absolutely do it like, she was defending domestic abuse on their behalf the other night.
  6. Win win for the Tories in the long run as well. Watch the BBC and you get a barage of right wing slanted drivel, boycott it and they can claim it's unprofitable and can be sold off/wound up.
  7. I generally think Lineker's a well-meaning but naive and sheltered pillock where politics is concerned - particularly after his own hand-wringing over Corbyn being "too radical" (likely due to his realisation that his bank balance would have been affected imo) - but obviously I'm completely with him on this one. It was only a few years ago that the idea of calling our government fascists was deemed wildly hysterical, I don't think that can be claimed anymore, nor do I think Lineker's comparison with '30s Germany is at all inaccurate. For some you can't draw a comparison unless you already have the hindsight of where it lead in that example, which I think is wrong and more importantly not really relevant imo.
  8. Gold is the tackiest thing going on football tops
  9. My guess is that it's a ghost/orphan page, meaning that adidas deleted it years ago but it was never unpublished, meaning that it's still out there and accessible if you have the direct address. Because it's on the adidas domain it'll still get all of the site wide updates at the top so it looks new.
  10. It's existed since May 2020 in its current format, so I wouldn't get too excited. There's no reason for a page like that to exist in its published form until right before the shop/online shop opens either.
  11. He's not wrong about it needing to be independent and not about any one person or group like, we all say that on here. Whether the Trust have earned a reputation for cronyism fairly or unfairly, it's definitely there. Many on here will have experienced first hand just how poisonous some of these alterior-motived individuals are to our collective cause, often having been welcomed in with open arms.
  12. Playing Doris Day at ear splitting volume, man Surely that was an eye-opener for Eales. Not advocating getting rid of him either, someone should just maybe have a word.
  13. Bournemouth 1-3 Liverpool Everton 1-2 Brentford Leeds 1-1 Brighton Leicester 0-1 Chelsea Spurs 2-0 Forest Palace 0-2 Man City (double) Fulham 1-2 Arsenal Man United 2-1 Southampton West Ham 1-2 Villa Newcastle 1-1 Wolves Brighton 1-1 Palace Southampton 1-1 Brentford
  14. Castore doesn't strike me as a brand that'll still be around in a few years tbh. Just a gut feeling based on how they go on.
  15. By bringing up the Ashley years. So suddenly we're onto this idea that other club's fans didn't get more up for a match vs us than say Southampton, which I think is nonsense, but also not worth getting into. It's fine, you think the away fans that come up here and rate our atmosphere highly are saying it for clicks (despite that not making any sense) or for some other reason that means it's not a genuine opinion. No point in arguing with anyone who thinks like that.
  16. You're changing the subject there like, so I'll leave it there.
  17. Some serious recently divorced 'maybe love isn't for me' stuff going on with our fans like I mean that in the nicest possible way
  18. If they're experiencing it first hand, it's not reputation. I dunno why you can't accept others who come up here think we have a great atmosphere like, it's hardly controversial. Easy to forget as well that when we go to away matches, we're seeing their atmosphere at home to Newcastle, we don't get to see what they're like at home to Bournemouth, Brentford and Southampton. When we hear what it's like at away grounds we should be comparing like-for-like, to our home matches against say Everton or Villa.
  19. Your experience is just as relevant as the countless opposition fans who big us up and these experiences are all opinions. I don't disagree with you about our atmosphere, my only point is that things aren't as bleak as they could be, we're starting from a point where we have a reputation for having one of the best atmospheres in the country.
  20. Nah, they have every reason to not put us near the top, they don't. It might not be easy to accept but it's probably just that they're telling the truth.
  21. As I say, if that's the narrative, going against that would be in these channels best interests. Comments and downvotes are just as beneficial to them because it drives interaction and advertiser revenue, but they don't do that either. There's no reason for them to lie. You don't have to agree with them, but they're pretty obviously being sincere.
  22. Getting pulled apart, ie driving 'interaction' in the way that TalkSport do is also in their best interests. But they don't.
  23. This point makes no sense. If it was their intention to tell people what they want to hear, do it for the likes, and play to the masses, then they wouldn't be ranking Newcastle, Leeds, and Palace at the top, it would be Man United and Liverpool, or even Arsenal, all who have several thousand times the online presence we do and who would bring in more likes, shares, subscriptions. But they don't. Again, they have no reason to lie. Nor do the people with the most upvoted comments saying exactly the same thing.
  24. That would suggest he should be nearer 13 goals so far this season which imo adds up, I can definitely think of 4 off the top of my head so there being an additional 1 or 2 he should have scored makes sense.
