Fabian Schär - signs a one year contract extension on reduced terms (Official)

Anyone else aware that they haven't even really noticed Schar for the past few matches? Not a bad thing either, he's just been getting on with it. -
Fair play, that's some excellent projection as trolling.

Is Matt Doherty alright? He looks like he's on crack.

Howe is everything I've ever wanted in a Newcastle manager tbh, I couldn't be happier with the job he's done and is doing. There's nothing I need to overlook if that makes sense? For example with Rafa I had to overlook the style of football (not fully his fault obviously), but with Howe, at least at the moment, he's ticking all of the boxes for me.

Another match that felt alien but in a great way. You look at the score and you think it's a thrashing, but Brentford weren't bad at all imo and we weren't in top gear. That's not arrogance or a backhanded compliment, or saying the scoreline flattered us or anything either, it was just one of those matches. We played really well and deserved to win, the way we press and dominate possession is a joy to behold and puts much less pressure on us to make the right pass and take chances because we're so good at winning the ball back that you know it's in us to go time and again. I love the way we play, I think I can see what Howe has in mind for us and it's exactly my type of football. Love it. Edit: Watching it back again, Brentford weren't bad but Raya was Almiron's goal and the O.G were largely about us forcing it to happen.

I love him. So much of the good that we do involves him.

If Miggy carries on like this it potentially does more harm than good getting a RW in, he's been sensational

Averaging over 51k in the Championship but you could always get a ticket for the match. That's the ideal situation really, I don't think we'd out grow 60k like

Brilliant first half. Unsurprised to see the same needless whinging.

My favourite was some of them on there claiming that £12m for Trippier was a bad deal for us. I'd hate to be a Mackem on there with common sense, it must be a constant battle.

If you can point to an example of this I'm all ears like. As far I can tell it's at least always the argument for a new stadium and at best a swing and a miss (Spurs)
-
Couldn't care less about having a world class stadium. Atmosphere, location, tradition, and a sense of community and belonging are everything. It'll all be gone forever and too late to do anything about it if we scrap all that, tell ourselves it'll benefit the average fan, then end up like every other club that sold its soul for nothing.

Like I say though, the other guy's like that as well, he just asks the same shit with enthusiasm

I know Yorkie singles out that NUFCTV interviewer for his shit questions and they are shit, but let's be honest, loads of them are like that. The questions are often either the most basic 'do you think X will help you?' question that will be answered yes, or they're asking Howe to predict the future with hardly anything in between. I can't get away with that other NUFCTV interviewer either like, feel a bit shan for saying it, but there's something proper off and false about him imo.

Best bit about that post was skipping to the end and only reading the last sentence with no context.

Newcastle United vs. Brentford: 8/10/22 @ 3pm (No UK TV)

I've always thought that Scandinavians have a Geordie twang when they speak English and just guessed that it was something to do with the Viking invasion without ever properly looking into it. -
It doesn't need to be worse to still be true.

I can be canny pessemistic and miserable at times, but the match day threads make me feel like Patch Adams by comparison. Just relentless moaning over nowt.

The whole thing was surreal and I had a lot of conflicting emotions going on when it all happened and still do. I didn't really get teary-eyed or anything, but when I saw this it properly got to me and probably always will. I'd never really liked the song until this moment either tbh, but something about the video with it being an empty stadium and how amazing it sounds felt like a really big deal and really symbolic. It felt like I was hearing it properly for the first time ever and I still get shivers watching it now.

These things are sliding doors moments anyway. There's every chance that if he had come here in January it would have worked out. The environment you're in can make all the difference. Having said that, he was a January only signing anyway. I don't think anyone wanted him once we were safe.
