He's the type of player I never ever pay attention to and would never pick as a potential signing like. He's just not my type of player, but could be another one that when he plays for your team you end up massively appreciating. His stats have been a bit of a surprise to me because I've more or less ignored him.

Not that I care how much we paid, but you really need to factor in the benefit of taking the main striker away from a relegation rival as well. It's not as simple as saying it's £25m for Chris Wood, there's extra incentive to pay it because of that context.

The disgust over the signing was as universal as I've ever seen it on here. He's probably the reason the disgust hasn't been as bad since because he wasn't just not that bad, he was good.

Now it all makes sense. SIbierski was unarguably good for us for his entire time here. Still the worst reaction I've ever seen on here to a signing even after 14 years of Ashley as well.

IIRC their goalscoring records are almost identical. Obviously not that goals are the be all and end all, but I was surprised when I saw that.

FWIW his form for New Zealand is fine this season (4 goals in 4 friendlies)
