And if Mitchell was trying to dampen that with his own long term plans then I’m sorry but I’m fully backing Howe. The board clearly have.

At 33 this just makes zero sense when a lot of the squad are the wrong side of 30. I can see the benefits in offering Schar and Burn extensions - even Trippier to some extent but I really think now is the time for us to part ways with Wilson. We need movement and a bit of ingenuity on the bench - not a 33 year old who’s pace matches that of coastal erosion and who’s legs are made of biscuits.

They can. They just have no qualms about sacking the tea lady or dashing a community project in order to facilitate the headroom in wages.

Superb servant for the club. Joined when we were at a low point and his goals certainly saved us a few times. Played some great football before the injuries caught up. Really do wish him well.

And if he moves purely for the wages then fuck him. Not the sort of player we want and exactly the sort of player that’s led Man United to have a squad with the absolutely zero character or courage. They’ve thrown money at the problem since Ferguson left - it ain’t always the answer.
