    Dan Burn

Had the season of his life. Firmly etched into club folklore and a stand up human being to boot.
  2. Got a feeling the first we’ll hear of a proper signing is when he’s due to fly in. Similar to the Tonali, Guimaraes deals. . . .
  3. Shouldn’t even be entertaining this. We’d have been fucked without Barnes contributions this year. Seems to be a great professional too, doesn’t kick up a fuss when benched, seems to have very little ego - tries hard. Can’t see the logic here, not for Elanga anyway.
  4. What she seemed to do in terms of player acquisition was leave her ego out of it. She wasn’t a director of football or a transfer “specialist” like supposedly Mitchell and Ashworth were - she had absolutely nothing to gain or lose by simply going out and getting the players that Howe said he needed. And fuck me, for the most part, it worked.
  5. Tbh it hasn’t seemed to have gone to plan since Mandy left.

The bit about the new center half is interesting. And by interesting I mean it’s interesting to note he’s admitted he hasn’t got a fucking clue.

The smokescreen or the real deal? Who the fuck knows😂
  8. I agree with this. Wasn’t shocking by any stretch of the word - just fell short of his own high standards set by the previous season. That being said - if one of our gems has to be sold for that fabled “£100m” fee then it would probably make sense for it to be Gordon.
  9. Not currently but I’m intrigued as to where his ceiling is. For me, he looked lively when called upon. Maybe a loan out next season for more minutes?
  10. He could be available for half a packet of tabs - we still wouldn’t move quick enough to secure him.
  11. Our recruitment - as usual - moving at the pace of coastal erosion
  12. In regards to Grealish, obvious talent there and underneath there’s a thoroughly decent lad who’s always got time for fans etc etc. However there are massive red flags about his professionalism in regards to fitness. Rumours persist about his drinking (borderline alki and one to worry about when he retires) and his diet. There’s no question that Peps style has stifled his game but like most have said on here - is he worth the wage outlay when there’s too many questions about him? Probably not. That being said, if anyone can rehabilitate the lad it’s Eddie. . . .
  13. Have to say - for a free transfer it wouldn’t be the worst move we’ve ever made. Had his fitness issues but definitely gives us options off the bench.

This has weeks of us fuckin around followed by him moving to Chelsea for £75m all over it.
  15. Is there really any other kind at this time of year?
  16. Maybe later. In the bath now.
  17. Nah not heard of that mate. What is it?
  18. I think if SBR couldn’t inspire or tutor him then there was never really any hope for the kid.
  19. Everyday I live in hope for an Isak/Tonali style surprise transfer. Can’t believe it’s been almost 3 years since one of those. . . . Got me thinking, what changed? Have PIF lost a little of their enthusiasm or are we just a little bit all over this place at boardroom level so nothing is driving us forward?
  20. Had one of the worst debuts you’re likely to see. Seem to remember him being proper thrown in at the deep end mind you. Think there was a marked improvement after that.
  21. You’re right but it’s absolutely galling watching them cherry pick some elite talent without a care in the world whilst openly cooking the books as an established “top 6” team. Fuck modern football.
  22. I mean, yeah. Mbuemo ticked all the boxes didn’t he. Goals and assists for days. Would have flourished under Eddies mags. But - bigger picture stuff - he’s chose the dollar. By all accounts he’s quadrupled his wages - fair fucks to him. How many players have moved to that club and dropped off? Nearly all of them? There you go. I fully trust Howe, given his recent comments, to strengthen the team.
  23. Awful sense of foreboding that we do a lot of navel gazing this window whilst all the hot potatoes get scoffed. .
