It’s just completely illogical to me. What does it have to do with the PL who has influence over our owners now or in the future. As long as the people put forward aren’t criminals then it doesn’t have anything to do with them. Are we going to test the husband or wife of each board member?!? I mean we all know they will have influence over their spouse’s decisions and actions, but come on!

Lobbying for or against something like this is part and parcel of the world we live in. If for example Spurs and Liverpool wrote to the Premier League to say that they need to look deeper into the deal because there are links to piracy and it is bad for the whole league if they let the takeover happen, it’s not necessarily the Big 6 stopping the deal from going through. It is just another member raising concerns which Masters and co would have to take seriously. We need something with more meat to help get the deal done
