  1. I believe it’s a disorder and addictive personality is a character trait. I don’t believe it’s an Illness. How do you think a death bed cancer patient would feel about what they are going through being aligned with gambling or drug addiction? Whether you like it or not, there is an element of choice in what addicts do, no matter how small it is. The same doesn’t apply to any other ‘illness’ you can contract.
  2. How do most people get rid of addictions? Through willpower and lifestyle changes, including therapy. Can you do that with cancer, parkinsons, MD etc? That’s why I hate the labelling! Your reading of my original post was me saying ‘they should just stop doing it and use some willpower’. Read it again, that’s not what I said. Lifestyle changes includes moving away from temptation, changing routines, losing friends etc. That’s arguably more important, but willpower is a huge part of overcoming addiction.
  3. I’m well aware of the impact addiction can have on families, first hand. I have literally lived it. So yeah, it all makes sense and it definitely doesn’t change my opinion. If anything it strengthens it
  4. Check out gambling disorder. This is a label for addiction that is starting to grow in popularity and I think it’s more appropriate. Fuck me, anyone would think I said all addicts should be shot. I’m happy to take any criticism on the chin for what seems to be an unpopular and controversial opinion but you guys need to calm down a bit. I’m not the only person on the planet who doesn’t agree that addictions are an illness/disease.
  5. What the fuck are you talking about?! I’m not stigmatising anything. Read my original post - I have sympathy for people with addiction. We have experienced it in my family and I have had friends who have battled problems. But I don’t agree with the labelling of it. There’s no criticism of people with addiction at all. It’s literally just the labelling of it I don’t agree with.
  6. Are there drugs for addiction?
  7. When you’ve dealt with addiction in your family and seen the kind of personalities that will hide behind ‘disease’ you’d probably have a different opinion. Everyone is entitled to their opinion I guess. I’m not being cuntish mate, I’ve just seen it first hand and I don’t agree that it’s a disease
  8. I just don’t agree it’s an Illness. I don’t agree that any addiction is. You have no choice if you get cancer and you absolutely cannot get rid of it through willpower and lifestyle changes. Same with pretty much every other genuine illness. The mere fact that you can stop being addicted to something if you make enough changes makes it not an illness. A character trait maybe, a weakness definitely but calling these things a disease just feels like an excuse. “It’s not my fault I lost the house through gambling, it’s an illness”. It kind of absolves them of responsibility for their actions. Maybe that’s harsh but I just can’t get on board with it. I have sympathy for them and I’m not suggesting it’s an easy thing to reverse but I just hate the rhetoric around it.
  9. This prick randomly popped into my head today. Remember when he had a proper hard-on for James Tomkins. I’m sure he tried to buy him 2-3 times. Clearly not the most hateful thing he ever did he but still….cunt!
  10. We must be such a massive ballache to play against. Terrifying at times

    Jacob Murphy

He’s having the game of his life so far! Such a likeable guy!
  12. Watching the derby game no one actually gives a shit about to get my football fix. You can always rely on the scousers to not observe a minute’s silence. Fucking scumbags!
  13. Why are Spurs wearing a brown strip?! Twats!
  14. Footballers aren't generally known for quick thinking and articulation. We can all craft perfect answers given enough time. On the spot he probably just said what he thought was safest and what came to him quickest
  15. Especially live on camera when you know your boss has skin like wet tissue paper. I don't blame him, i'm not sure how he would've skirted that one. Emotions were so high at the time that anyone who didn't literally say 'he's a huge cancerous cunt' was public enemy number 1
  16. Man Utd are hilarious! What a class game! Couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch of cockneys
  17. I can’t see anyone in the CL worrying too much about either Man Utd or Galatasaray. They’re both shite!
  18. That draw is full of shite and we get Man Utd away ? What a fucking season!

    Lewis Hall

Shame really, I was hoping he was closer to replacing Burn in the starting lineup up he doesn’t look first team ready yet.
  20. Eddie doesn’t know how to play against Liverpool. I’d rather we avoided them
  21. Haaland asking for Isak’s shirt! He knows!
  22. There’s been loads of stuff on podcasts and other football media stuff recently about just how much it affects a player when his home life isn’t settled. He’s young, brand new to the country, the league, the club, the climate and his teammates. He gets a totally free pass from me for a long time yet. He’s clearly totally class, we’ve already seen that but it might just take a while for us to see it consistently.
  23. That’s what it got like with Pep’s Barcelona - they went from everybody being amazed by them to being bored to tears. It’s obviously highly effective football but it’s hardly entertaining
  24. I know Man City are the best team in Europe but we gave them a game last season. This approach is wank and completely inexcusable. It’s the kind of shit you’d expect from a newly promoted team. We’re at home FFS! People have paid to go and watch this tosh
