  1. Probably tells you about Tottenham’s plans not to invest. There’s literally no reason not to bring Conte in, unless there is a disagreement on transfers/funding.
  2. Great shout and very sensible - but that goes against the public’s demand for an Engurlish man to lead the Brexit lions to success.
  3. That’s disappointing. I thought I’d cracked it. Fwiw, I don’t doubt your info at all.
  4. I was getting excited until I read, “As reported by The Sun”. That’ll be the same Sun who told us we had been sold two years ago.
  5. That was this season, yeh? Go back one season more and you’ll find they spent £200m+.
  6. “CTFC fan here. Looking forward to our games next season. I was at our only previous meeting in the League Cup second round years ago when Le Tallec scored an extra time winner for you lads.” I love how a ‘Cheltenham fan’ manages to recall the scorer of an injury time winner for the opposition during a second round League Cup tie from 2005. Just rolls off the tongue. Alongside calling them ‘lads’, almost as if that’s how they refer to themselves. It’s such a weird thing to do. That whole forum probably shares as many IP addresses as chromosomes in the Stadium of Light population.
  7. This thread is definitely needed. Week by week next season I need a place dedicated to gloat at @Froggy and @Kaizero while OGS fails to meet their lofty ambitions.
  8. I assumed it was one of those “mutual agreement” sackings. Might be wrong with that, overall point still stands though.
  9. Absolutely love Krul. Glad it’s gone so well for him at Norwich and if he does get it, I hope he/Holland do well.
  10. This England game has been absolutely gash.
  11. We’ll not agree - so we’ll leave it there, as it’ll probably become tedious for everyone else However, I’ve enjoyed our exchange and welcome healthy debate - no need to get heated though.
  12. Exactly - results matter. And the only results OGS has achieved is two top four finishes. Getting to a Europa League final by beating some very poor sides, isn’t particularly worthwhile if you make incredibly poor decisions in the final (against the 7th best team in Spain). Who remembers great sides by how many semi finals they reach ffs?
  13. Man Utd could recruit from League Two for all I care. If after 2.5 seasons they’ve got nothing to show for it other than “spirit” and culture. I think people would be right to ask questions. Some quick appointments work (Guardiola, Gerrard) and some don’t (Lampard, OGS). Man Utd aren’t the first to make an appointment like this and won’t be the last. We’ll see if he ever delivers this success you claim he’s building. Time will tell.
  14. Man City were 8th at the turn of the year, the whole top 10 were in it.
  15. Seems a bit pathetic to call them ‘idiotic views’. They’re also opinions built on facts and evidence, such as the poor records he’s smashed and lack of winning, rather than ‘pettiness’ and ‘not reality’.
  16. “Remarkably well” Howay man. Your Norwegian allegiances are making you say some silly things. As I’ve said multiple times, if Man Utd fans are happy with finishing 2nd - 4th every season, never winning a trophy but having good ‘spirit’. Good on them. Just seems bizarre they don’t want to be competitive. For me it’s a great result keeping OGS, Man Utd remaining impotent would be delicious.
  17. Are they? I don’t think they have any chance of getting anywhere near the title under OGS. They haven’t so far. They also finished on 81 points in 2nd place under Mourinho, better than OGS’s 74 this season.
  18. Must be desperate to support OGS if we’re getting to the point of trying to guess what might happen in totally hypothetical situations with other clubs. I wouldn’t have appointed Guardiola personally, no. But they did and he provided a sensational first season and has gone on to be one of (if not the) greatest managers in the world. OGS has had 2.5 seasons and has won nothing apart from qualifying for the CL.
  19. Guardiola won a treble in his first season in charge.
