I think they have been trying to sign a big name ST but finding it difficult for teams to sell or players wanting to come here at this time, they will know how important it is to get one within the next couple of days so may have to get the best they can within the time frame. Most players and agents waiting for a big money move will wait till nearer the end of January to see who offers the most cash and best opportunity before committing. Its not easy but just have to wait. Its just unfortunate we need them ASAP in the position we are in and by the time it hots up we maybe to far adrift to get players thinking of coming.

Don't mind Wood but it just brings it home how difficult it must be to bring in a higher quality ST even with money, if rumors are correct sounds like targets are gradually getting worse each week.

Isn't that what they say about top class keepers, don't have much to do all game then is switched on for that moment when needed. Concentration for a keeper the whole game is surely lesson number 1

As each game comes and goes my confidence of winning is less and less. Could spend 100 million this week and if we loose at the weekend it's over before the new guys have started. Definitely a must win for me.

I think trying to get PEA on loan would be a good idea just to give him some competition on that side, I know he is a bit of a knob but still a great player when he turns up and would give ASM a shake and would get goals. Wouldn't be my first signing but if still available nearer the end of January I'd add him to the squad

I would have said the same a few games ago but it's becoming more common and I would say a good reliable GK is just as important as a good ST, scoring goals and not conceding wins you games and there goal yesterday was Dubs fault. No decent forward and bad goalkeeping cost us the game, nobody played that well but that's what it came down to.

Would love to see a 343 if we added those 2 cb and an attacking lb as would be far more fluid and could easily become a 5 if under pressure. Need to get an actual formation soon though instead of constantly switching.

By Howes comments its sounds like a ST must be the main main priority this week, hopefully we can actually land one high on the list and don't have to go to far down out of desperation.

Don't think there was anything wrong with the starting line up and not really that many other options, very similar to the team against man u, don't think Saint can play uptop and maybe the subs weren't great but the players have to take responsibility. I still think a few more quality additions will make the world of difference. Too many bang average players in this team.

Hope to god we get atleast 1 top ST in before the weekend, we need a focal point and hopefully we get Ramsey or someone similar to keep the ball and create chances. It's clear we are missing quality in many areas and more business needed ASAP.

Really depends on his fitness, big if but a fit Ramsey would be far better than what we have. Only problem is we have enough injuries atm without adding to it.

Can definitely do a much better job at lb than we already have but would take away some of his quality playing there instead of rb. Would much rather see him playing in his preferred position but if we don't sign a lb before Lewis is fit I could see him slotting in there as no other option and he would do a great job.

What a difference if we got Digne and Trippier. I know we are loaded but normally getting severely disappointed every window was expecting similar this one. Honestly can't believe what I'm seeing so far. CB, ST and couple on loan and over the moon.

If it a quality CB and ST then pretty much what I thought, maybe a cm on loan but we're never going to change the whole team.

Hope we get Digne and a class cb now, attacking fullbacks make a huge difference nowadays and a quality cb to take control in a 1 v 1 if left exposed if fullbacks pushing on and can see Howes front football really taking off. Buzzing with Trippier.

PEA would be mint loan signing if we managed to get another quality ST in first, wouldn't be back for 6 weeks or so but would be a great asset towards end of season. Not sure if I'd take him on a permanent unless he seems to click here but a class player on his day.

Don't really know anything about him and got to be a risk for a player from an inferior league especially for that price, would have definitely prefer a proven Premier league cb but maybe none available. Preferably the type of player to sign in the summer but got to be an improvement.
