Football has changed now Premier league teams don’t have to sell if they don’t want to The tv money has meant a lot of teams can afford to keep their best players and pay them well. or….they can set ridiculously high valuations for them and wait for teams to match it Years ago you could just raid smaller premier league clubs for fun but know things have changed with all of the shared TV money You would of thought someone like James Ward Prowse would of moved years ago but seems content at Southampton unless someone comes in with a stupid bid. Same with Anthony Gordon / Everton demanding 50 million for a player that has played one half decent season in the premier league ?

Brighton have fantastic scouts / transfer infrastructure They have been unbelievable over the last few years , including this window They will be in the top 10 this year and for a club that size thats fantastic Moved the ball much quicker than us and pressed us very well.

I sort of agree However solid to me is not letting other teams have chances ! Brighton had multiple chances , and without pope or better finishing we would of been beaten quite comfortably. Being solid means denying teams goal scoring opportunities and restricting them to long range shots Brighton should of scored at least 1 I think the match showed we are very lacking in (game changers)…..and as you mentioned 2/3 more attacking players. I also think in the next few windows we need some extra quality defenders Upgrades and challenges to Burn / Lascelles / Targett / Schar …,,.who I think are all good premier league defenders ….but if the aim is Europe or higher ….we need botman quality

I don’t get this argument in regards to any player we buy or money we spend if the management team decide to go all in / or decide to sign a player (whatever the fee) I don’t see it as wasted money , its money spent on a player the club think will improve us , and probably a player that they think will get is where we want to be I trust our director of football / scouts / manager etc…. more than I trust random fans. All signings at all clubs (no matter what the fee) have the potential to flop or be a huge success. Transfer fees can sometimes be irrelevant, in terms of how things pan out. We could sign Gordon for 20 million and he proves to be the worst signing ever ..,.could just as easily pay 40 million and prove to be an absolute steal (and vice versa) Just leave it in the hands of the new management set up as they work with the players and know who we need.
