  1. Willian- Yes please Hummels- Yes
  2. I would take a double swoop for Steve Guppy and Jason Drysdale at this stage
  3. I don’t listen to Eddie Howe in regards to transfer information/ updates. He will never give a proper update or speak the truth as he won’t want to give anyone else the upper hand Anything he says (might) impact a deal , might give a rival club a chance to nip in and scupper a deal , etc etc He will always straight bat every transfer question. if we manage to spend £65m on a centre half , I suspect we will try to get a winger on loan with obligation (which might prove difficult) if we don’t end up with 1st choice centre back and go for cheaper alternative , we might end up with RW too. So he can’t really give an answer either as he won’t know what will pan out, or what we present itself in the next few days.
  4. I only picked those 3 as I don’t rate them at all as top premier league players. They are all plodders. Would have been reserve players back in the day !
  5. I would play Tindall ahead of Longstaff
  6. We need huge upgrades on Burn , Longstaff , Murphy in the first 11. Most other premier league sides including the poorer ones have better players than those 3. Longstaffs brain works too slow Burn is an old fashioned centre half / kick it / head it He has made the most of what he had but isn’t the answer Murphy is similar standard to his brother but somehow has made more of his career (probably because his attitude in training is 1st class) In fact all 3 of the above players have excellent attitudes We need more than attitude though , we need some genuine class. I know Eddie Howe keeps saying it’s a small pool we are looking at , however I can’t believe we can’t find 3 players in the world , that aren’t better than these 3 and won’t cost an arm and a leg Gilmour at Brighton is better than longstaff (and would probably cost £12m) That’s without even thinking about anything or having scouts all over the world (like we do)
  7. Newcastle United are set to make Marc Guéhi their club record signing in a package deal worth up to £70m. #NUFC | @alex_crook via @talkSPORT
  8. Best Right Back I’ve ever seen at Newcastle- in my lifetime He is 100% leaving in this window
  9. Today is the day Got a feeling in my bones
  10. That starting 11 has to be one of the weakest in the top 8 Cant wait to have a few more fit players coming back , along with a couple of new signings PSR - Is really really slowing us down I know we are growing year on year , but that gap doesn’t seem to close (much) Plus point is that our manager is very good at improving players. lets hope this week is the turning point / transfer breakthrough
  11. This cup doesn’t reflect anything in the group stages. Its a league style system and all the top teams play virtually all of their second string players (players that rarely play- youngsters etc ) I wouldn’t take anything from the results in this early stage (it gets serious when it gets to knockouts) Newcastle might switch it up a bit too (depending on the fixtures in and around these games) The one thing it will bring is decent crowds and a chance for the womens game to keep growing.
  12. Schar was stupid for reacting and Ben Diaz was also in the wrong Two red cards all day (in this day and age) Back in the day , it would have been (two yellows) and both told to get on with the game and stop pissing about They both know the rules , and both put their heads together. Diaz conned the ref , and deserves all the criticism. Schar should have just laughed and walked away , we all know what Schar is like , he had done this sort of thing before.
  13. To be fair that link / match report is not far off the mark. I thought the game was very flat in the first 20 minutes , atmosphere was very subdued, we were chasing shadows on the pitch. Everyone was sitting expecting a win. We weren’t pressing / couldn’t press. Once the sending off occurred , the noise went up 10 fold and suddenly it was like watching a proper game again (in the first half) Second half was more of the same , chasing shadows and getting everyone behind the ball. They passed the ball around well without really hurting us too much (albeit it took a good save from pope and a goal line clearance from hall) to keep it at 1-0 Atmosphere turned up again in the last 5 minutes. Overall it was an excellent 3 points but I still left the game unimpressed and it all felt a bit flat. I am sure we will improve and we need some more minutes in the legs to get going. Alongside Tonalis return, a couple of new signings and a much stronger bench I am still very excited for this season ahead. It did however feel a bit strange on Saturday and not what I thought the opening day would feel like. As normal it’s the performance on the pitch that dictates the atmosphere, I just wish we had support at home (as we do when playing away) in which it doesn’t seem to matter what happens on the pitch and the support is constant throughout.
  14. Who says he wasn’t first choice I heard he was the one everyone agreed on and all wanted originally , early talks seemed to suggest we didn't have a chance to get him and price was too high Then (later in the window) they went all in , and got their man and paid the price they wanted after French kid turned us down
  15. The problem is the next defender we try to buy know will know they are not our 1st choice? also other clubs will know we were willing to spend £65m on a RCB price will then be inflated , whoever we go in for I can see us trying a 5th time and hopefully in private 🥸
  16. Thinking about this If we really want to be number 1 We have to move from St James’ Park ideally 100 metres back into leazes park We can’t compete long term or ever with Man City / Man Utd / Real Madrid / Barcelona ……if we stay at St James park , even if we expand to 60/65k If it’s true and we want to be the very best , we literally have to have a brand new stadium (70k +) to be an elite team and smash commercial revenue / co-operate etc We can’t spend hundreds of millions on an upgrade and fall short of being an elite club This decision is absolutely pivotal and a guide if we will be world class or just a big club (just below the elite) You can’t compete with Real Madrid , Barcelona, Man City , with an 6/8k expansion!
  17. I am quite relaxed about the window (at the moment) However if we don’t get into Europe this season , we will no doubt lose Bruno in the Summer. I wouldn’t be surprised if Gordon / Isak would want to leave as well All 3 are way too good not to be playing in Europe!
  18. They literally never stop spending
  19. Sounds like he wants more money and ideally from another club (he is 100% putting feelers out for more clubs to join the race) He will be sold , we just have to hope it’s to us !
  20. Eagle hasn’t landed
