That is pointless, apparently an Italian site reporting they want to cut his wages by 30% is linking him with us? That’s really bad, lazy, pathetic journalism (my apologies for using the word journalism as I really feel it isn’t).

impressive record - “the highest scoring teenager in Europes top 5 leagues last season.” Targets we’re linked with are normally more specific to make them sound good, like “the highest scoring teenager who always wore red pants on match day and phoned his mum straight after the game in Europes top 5 leagues last season.”

I’d rather wait and get the right signings and I’ll never be one of these supporters that’s shouting “biggest club in the world” phrases or anything like that. We’ve got ahelluva manager in howe at the moment who will drive us forward so I trust him. If we end up starting next season with same squad - I personally won’t be worried.

As nice as it would be to get new faces in, I’d be relaxed if we started next season with this squad as I feel it would be right move rather than paying silly prices. Carve out a reputation next few windows that we won’t be bent over.

I started my original comment with “if he came to us because it wasn’t his choice”

are we genuinely second choice for him or are we second choice because only two bids have been accepted? All I’m saying is I’d like us to keep that same burning desire and spirit we currently have.
