Perhaps this makes Maddison worth slightly more to us now? He obviously doesn't cover the same position or role as Shelvey but he can certainly play in that midfield 3 so counts as an extra body to move people around. Maybe this necessity adds an extra 10m onto our next bid rather than going for another CM entirely.

It's a blow in terms of squad depth that's for sure. Just means more minutes for Anderson and Longstaff. That's not an issue I don't think. Problem will be if its ends up being longer than 12 weeks, but with a mid season World Cup it gives Shelvey a little longer to get back to fitness.

Depay on a free for 2yrs would be decent. He has ability that's for sure, it's his attitude and mentality that I've always doubted. I'm sure Howe and the staff will check that out if they plan on going for him though, in which case I'd be very excited by his signings if it were to happen. 12 goals in 28 for Barca last season and 20 goals and 12 assists in 37 for Lyon the season before so he's putting up decent stats still. Plus he'll have played with Bruno already which would be a nice bonus.

Doesn't surprise me to hear rumours we are turning our attention to targets abroad now. Makes sense but we must be getting pretty low down in our transfer wish list with some of these guys. That's if the rumours are even true ofcourse.

I don't for one second belive that guy on twitter but for what it's worth he looks OK. Decent record in La Liga (35gls in 81apps). Plays through the middle but can play out wide or as a false 9. Aresnal were interested in him before they get Jesus.

We've got the most players in that list. 6 in total, that's 2 more than Wolves and Brighton. Bit of an anomaly maybe as Forrest let us run riot to some extent. But still a good sign for us. I'd take any of the top 3 in that list. All of which would seemingly cost more than we are willing to pay though.

Can't see us having more possession than them. But that's not to say I think it will be widely in their favour because I think both teams will have periods when they see alot of the ball. Even though they got 2 against Man United I don't seem them scoring many this season so if we can score once I don't see us losing. I'll say 0-1 .

I think we've improved more than one position in the table so I'd say 10th is too low. 6th would be a miracle of sorts, so I've gone for 8th assuming we still have 1 or 2 to come in.
