Willock clearly thinks thats a bad one. Couple of months I'd imagine. Weakens us massively.
-
Can't have anything nice can we.
-
That looked like a foul.
-
A pass so bad that it ends up in Willock getting injured.
-
Dead leg for Willock.
-
Joelinton/Tonali rotating as CDM.
-
Even if he does go for £15M. Based on this window so far and arguably the last couple as well, I don't see us being able to act quickly enough to bring in a replacement .
-
Damn, have we all been miserable for a year already? How time flies.
-
In fairness we could get beaten tomorrow and if we then sign Guehi it'll not matter that he's cup tied anyway.
-
Imagine the scenes if he's subbed off 5 minutes in.
-
While this is absolutely true. Being cup tied for even the Carabao Cup could be a potential deal breaker, as stupid as that may seem. No pressure to sell but the player clearly wants to leave and they'll be passing up on £70M now when they'll get probably £45M next summer if he's had a good season again.

Got his Achilles scraped quite early when he came on. Seemed to disappear for a few minutes after that but really came into it when it mattered. Will be a big game for him on Wednesday. Quite an exciting prospect of having him and Tonali in the midfield again for that match.

After some hours to settle down from this (mostly their last minute "winner"). I've accepted this for what it was, a lucky escape. I do think though that missing Schar has a huge impact in these type of game, especially when you also don't have Trippier or Hall playing. That's three players out of your back 4 missing who massively contribute to playing the ball out and breaking the oppositions press. Krafth and Burn are mostly incapable of doing that, which is why we time after time got stuck in our own half. No suprise really that we were so much more comfortable in possession when Tripps and Hall came on. Not to mention Willock who is far better than Longstaff at progressive runs out of his own half. Forrest will be an interesting one. But I suspect we'll see a game that closely resembles the one today, especially with so many changes.

Think this is a perfect situation tbh. Hall will play in the games that suits his style of play and therefore most of the home games and Kelly will swap in for him in some away games or when the opposition calls for it. Hall is 19, if he's expecting to play EVERY single PL game this season, that's delusional.

Its games like this in early rounds of a cup against Premier League opponents when you really see what your squad depth is like. Right now, other than the midfield, it's actually pretty poor. Lascelles, Botman and Schar unavailable plays a big part in that but it's still not particularly inspiring to imagine what team we could put out (without exhausting the players who played today and then will play against Spurs)
-
If today is anything to go by I think we'll see Gordon and Barnes both start against Spurs.
-
And a couple of others with could've easily been finished better than they were.
-
No way they let Madueke go now. Even if they didn't want to before today, they definitely don't now. Just focus on a CB, can't keep going with Krafth as second choice until next year. Maybe find ourselves a RW in January if we're lucky.

The only plus point I can see from this game is that we didn't lose. Not surprised we've started the season slowly. After the international break we need to see a real step up in performances.

Lucky fuckers we are.

Retrospective incoming.
